My husband and I have settled on 3 names. 1 we each love but the other isn’t crazy for and 1 a compromise that we both like but are still mulling over:
Me: Roseline [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] (pronounced leen not line)
Him: [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
Compromise: [name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
I also like [name_f]Delia[/name_f]. I prefer it to [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] which sounds a bit harsh to me. [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] is nice but I would pronounce it INE if I saw it on paper. I think [name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is cute and has a nice rhythm with your last name.
Me: Roseline [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] (pronounced leen not line)
Him: [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
Compromise: [name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
My favorite is Roseline [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f], but I also like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] better than [name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] personally, though it does seem like a well met compromise, unless you both don’t really like it that much.
I’d initially pronounce Roseline “line”, but I think it’s beautiful. Roseline [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] is my favourite combo, and I also prefer it with your last name to either of the other two (with R, the alliteration’s quite soft, so I don’t mind it), but I do love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]! Funnily enough, I’m not that keen on [name_f]Delia[/name_f], although [name_f]Odelia[/name_f] (oh-[name_f]DEE[/name_f]-lee-ah) is one of my long-term-ish favourites.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! I would love [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] if it were [name_f]Rose[/name_f] uh line and not leen. I love the sound of leen, but I would use a different spelling to alleviate prn issues.
[name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be my picks. If you’re both happy with [name_f]Delia[/name_f], I’d go with that - it’s lovely. I also adore the name [name_f]Della[/name_f], which is similar.
