Berries,
I think my hubby and I have decided on [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] for our daughters name but we are undecided on her middle name. It will either be [name_f]Grace[/name_f] after his grandmother or [name_f]Rose[/name_f] after mine. I would very much appreciate your thoughts and reasoning given that I like both. What is your preference?
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
P. s her brothers name is [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m].
Personally, I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] sounds slightly better, but [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is also pretty.
I vote for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. They both have hard consonants (C and Gr) with soft vowels (ah and ay), whereas [name_f]Rose[/name_f] has softer consonants and a very strong “oh” sound.
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are both gorgeous names. I honestly cannot choose. Maybe [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]?
[name_m]Both[/name_m] are nice but I favor [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] more, simply because [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a less expected middle name than [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I do like the previous posters suggestion of [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] if you don’t think it changes [name_f]Rose[/name_f] too much.
I love both as well, but if I had to pick one I would probably go with [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I also like suggestion of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f].
[name_m]Both[/name_m] sound lovely–I think you should just decide which grandmother you want to honor, hard as that may be. I like the suggestion of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f].
Bump. Thoughts on the repetitive Rr’s in [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]? do they make it sound good or bad with [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]? Makes u want to choose [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or avoid it in favor of grace?
I honestly think both so equally wonderful. I slightly prefer [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I don’t think the repetitive Rs sound bad, in fact I think that perhaps the hard R sound repeated is what makes me like [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] slightly more. I also think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] could sound nice, depending on your surname.
What a great name! (Coming from a [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u], here…)
I vote for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. The harder consonant and long a of [name_f]Grace[/name_f] give the name a bit more pep and spunk.
They are both gorgeous, what a tough choice!! I would choose [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] personally, only because [name_f]Grace[/name_f] seems to be a super popular middle name. Honestly tho, you cant go wrong!
I think with McC_____ (I’m assuming its 3 syllables based on examples I know), I prefer [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] McC______, but I think [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] sounds good also. Since you’re last name has multiple syllables, I find the double one-syllable middle names to be nice. Plus then you’re little girl will have connections to both grandmas!
