I really love both [name]Clare[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name]. I understand your worries with using [name]Clare[/name], but I don’t think that should stop you. It’s a lovely name. [name]Jeanette[/name] is pretty, but I think it lacks the flair of [name]Ivy[/name] or [name]Clare[/name]. [name]Jessamyn[/name] is pretty, but it’s not a personal favorite of mine. I find it a little too frilly. If it were me I would use [name]Ivy[/name] or [name]Clare[/name], but I think any of your names are really nice and would work. You clearly have four good options.
My personal favourite of your 4 options is [name]Ivy[/name], and [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is gorgeous. However, I’m loving [name]Jeanette[/name] with [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Bettina[/name]! It seems like the better fit and it’s so much more unexpected. [name]Jeanette[/name] and [name]Bettina[/name] are just perfect together! My final vote goes to [name]Jeanette[/name] [name]Clare[/name]. Good luck!
My favorite is [name]Clare[/name] [name]Ivy[/name] BUT
[name]Clare[/name] pales in comparison to [name]Bettina[/name]. I’d go with [name]Jeanette[/name] or [name]Jessamyn[/name]. Also not sure if you were going for an A, B, C sibset but I wouldn’t want to be locked into a theme
[name]Jeanette[/name] is familiar so it feels old lady and less unique next to [name]Bettina[/name], but they both have a French flair. I’m also undecided about both girls having “ette”. Does [name]Bettina[/name] have a nn? I’d likely call [name]Bettina[/name] either [name]Betty[/name], [name]Bette[/name] (bet) or [name]Bets[/name]/[name]Betsy[/name] and [name]Jeanette[/name] would be [name]Nettie[/name] or [name]Etta[/name], so I’d be unsure about matchy-ness
I also can’t see any issues with [name]Jessamyn[/name]. It has the exotic feel of [name]Bettina[/name] and no worries about matchy-ness
I’m leaning toward [name]Jeanette[/name] because it and [name]Bettina[/name] feel like little French sisters but I’ll vote [name]Jessamyn[/name]. [name]Bettina[/name] & [name]Jessamyn[/name] are both very feminine and unique.
[name]Ivy[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is a lovely combination. I love both [name]Clare[/name] and [name]Iris[/name] seperately but I think together, [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] flows better so I chose that one.
Overall, I like [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Jeanette[/name] [name]Clare[/name], [name]Jeanette[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] and [name]Jessamyn[/name] [name]Clare[/name]…but I voted for [name]Jeanette[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] in the poll for a few reasons. First, I think [name]Jeanette[/name] sounds amazing with [name]Bettina[/name]. Second, while [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Clare[/name] are hot choices right now, I speculate that the next trend of names will have a mid-century “modern” flair and [name]Jeanette[/name] is perfect. That is not to say that [name]Ivy[/name] or [name]Clare[/name] are too popular, I think they are lovely choices. I love the nickname options for [name]Jeanette[/name], like [name]Nettie[/name], that is adorable. (Although, it just occurred to me, do you have a nickname for [name]Bettina[/name]? If she is called [name]Betty[/name], then [name]Netty[/name] would be a little confusing). I voted for [name]Jeanette[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] over [name]Jeanette[/name] [name]Clare[/name], because I feel that [name]Clare[/name] is most fresh in the first name spot, not the middle-- it seems many people put [name]Clare[/name] in the middle spot. There is absolutely nothing wrong with [name]Clare[/name] in the middle name spot, but [name]Susannah[/name] in the middle gets my vote for uniqueness.
I love [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] and [name]Clare[/name] [name]Iris[/name]! [name]Ivy[/name] got my vote, but [name]Clare[/name] [name]Iris[/name] was very close behind. I secretly love the idea of an ABC sibset, though!
I love [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]. It’s a gorgeous combination and I think [name]Ivy[/name] goes better with [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Bettina[/name] than the other choices.
Plus, I guess I don’t think it’s that popular, at least not in my state. You can look here: Popular Names by State and see where it stands in your state.
I think [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is a beautiful, elegant, and intelligent-sounding name. I think it would fit in at both preschool and [name]Harvard[/name], which in my opinion is a really great quality for a name to have.
I voted for [name]Jeanette[/name] [name]Susannah[/name], because I love the flow and feels that it matches your sibset nicely. But I also like [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] and [name]Jessamine[/name] (but not spelled [name]Jessamyn[/name] - something about the -y- detracts froms the beauty of the name for me). I also prefer the traditional French spelling of [name]Jeannette[/name] rather than [name]Jeanette[/name].
Thank you all SO much for the positive feedback, and please keep the comments coming! To answer the two posters who asked about my kids’ nicknames - my husband and I prefer to call them by their full names, but other family members often shorten [name]Asher[/name] to [name]Ash[/name] and [name]Bettina[/name] to [name]Tina[/name]. I like [name]Ash[/name] - would not have chosen [name]Tina[/name] and would’ve preferred another form, but it DOES keep [name]Nettie[/name] a possibility with [name]Jeanette[/name], which I hadn’t thought of and think is adorable.
