Ok, with your help I have spent the summer deciding on a name for my baby and we have choosen [name]Scarlett[/name]. It was such a relief to finally have a name that I haven’t really put much energy into making a final decision on a middle name. I posted some options a month and a half ago and I have narrrowed down the list. However, I don’t have anything final yet. I am due very soon…possibly days away. Let me know what you think of these options. I have made up a last name that somewhat mimics our true last name in syllables and feeling - DuMonde-[name]Anderson[/name].
- [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]
[name]Ruth[/name] was my grandmother’s name. I love that [name]Ruth[/name] is short and classic sounding. It is also nice that it isn’t super popular. This probably is my top choice right now b/c of length and family meaning. The only thing I am worried about is that maybe the names are both too harsh? Does it sound too abrupt?
- [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Eliana[/name]
My mom’s mn is [name]Elaine[/name] and my husband’s grandmother is [name]Ana[/name]. So, this would allow us to name after two people But, not sure if it is too long with our last name and too over the top with [name]Scarlett[/name].
- [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]June[/name]
If I didn’t really want to incorporate family, this is the one I would use. I like that [name]June[/name] is short and gives [name]Scarlett[/name] a soft feeling. Technically, my grandmother was born in [name]June[/name] but it seems like a stretch. I would have to explain how it is kind of a family connection.
So, I think it is down to those 3. What do you think? My son is [name]Julian[/name] [name]Ryder[/name]. Other family names are [name]Ana[/name], [name]Anne[/name], [name]Lee[/name], [name]Elaine[/name], [name]Ilene[/name], & [name]Karole[/name]. The two other names we strongly considered but nixed are [name]Annalee[/name] (seemed too long) and [name]Lee[/name] (too much of a tongue twister).
