I voted for [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. [name_f]Louise[/name_f] does not sound like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] in my accent, so I would not worry about the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] connection. I don’t even think today’s kids are likely to have this association - I’m pretty sure my seven-year-old has never read the series.
I still vote for [name_m]Peter[/name_m], because I don’t think the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] association is a bad thing. I do like the idea of [name_m]Felix[/name_m], as well, but it is a little close to [name_f]Frances[/name_f].
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is the winner to me. I don’t think [name_m]Artie[/name_m] and [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] are too close. (Coming from someone with a son whose nn is [name_m]Archie[/name_m] and who has considered sibling names with nns like [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u].)
I do think [name_m]Peter[/name_m] would make the whole thing feel very [name_f]Narnia[/name_f], but that would be my second pick.
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] is a great name but it’s trendiness compared to your other children and the presence of an F initial already rule it out for me.
My votes went to [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m].
I pretty much voted for any name that wasn’t [name_m]Felix[/name_m] as I don’t think it fits with your set, and the other names are all lovely and work. I thought of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] when hearing [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] and [name_m]Peter[/name_m], and for that reason, I prefer [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] with [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] as it gives the pair their own identity. I didn’t even think of [name_f]Louise[/name_f] as [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].
Also, in terms of nicknames, you can always go with the idea of not using one. If you don’t like the nicknames for [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], just call him [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and have everyone call him that. Same with [name_m]Peter[/name_m]. If you don’t like [name_m]Pete[/name_m], don’t call him it. There is always the possibly they will choose those nicknames for themselves, but both of my brothers have highly nicknameable names, as do I, and none of the three of us were brought up being called them (my mom made sure my relatives called us our full first names). We still all three go by our full first name.
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] or [name_m]Peter[/name_m]. Can’t stand [name_m]Felix[/name_m]. I lean toward [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] because [name_m]Peter[/name_m] feels more mid-century than your kids’ names.
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]James[/name_u] balances [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and helps maintain the classic feel
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Susan[/name_f] are the siblings in the chronicles of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] and I struggle to suggest [name_m]Peter[/name_m] based on the siblings, [name_m]Peter[/name_m] goes well but I just think of that so much …
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f] would have to share first initials
[name_m]Steven[/name_m] and [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] feel off to me even as middles with your sib set
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] is to me the clear winner
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] seems to be the name you love, and since [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] is often called [name_m]Eddie[/name_m], I wouldn’t worry about the [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] association. [name_m]Even[/name_m] without the nn, though, when 2 out of your 4 children don’t have [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] names, the pattern just isn’t strong enough to be a concern for me. ([name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] are very different names to my ear.) My favorite combo is [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m].
I adore [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]! Both names are so handsome, they’ll age perfectly, and they go wonderfully with their siblings’ names! I wouldn’t worry too much about [name_m]Peter[/name_m] giving you a [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] theme, I personally would never had noticed it unless you pointed it out. [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] is lovely too, [name_m]Felix[/name_m] happens to be on my list as well. You’ve got a fantastic selection of names to pick from, I really don’t think you can go wrong here.
Anyways, congratulations on the baby, and good luck settling on a name you love!
All great names. I voted [name_m]Felix[/name_m] for 1 reason, you don’t like nicknames associated with the other 2 options. I’m a big believer thwt once we give our child a name, it’s there’s to do what they want with. So if you said I prefer [name_m]Peter[/name_m] in its entirety to [name_m]Pete[/name_m], that’s understandable. But, if you’d be upset when someone calls him that, calls [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Art[/name_m], or if he decides to go by one of the nicknames you don’t like on his own, I don’t think you should use them.
On the [name_m]Peter[/name_m] front, I wouldn’t let Chronicles of [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] stop you if that’s the only thing holding you back. It’s a funny coincidence, not a deal breaker. It’s not a negative association or anything.
I do not find [name_m]Artie[/name_m] and [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] too similar or find it stra n e for the boys to go by nicknames and not the girls.
[name_m]Felix[/name_m] seems a bit more trendy than the rest. But it’s a fun name that I think fits every age very well. And I agree, it seem like a good baby of the family name. It’s playful energy is endearing.
I voted for [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. I feel like if nicknames are the only thing you’re concerned about, it’s worth using. I don’t think it’s super weird for the boys to have nicknames and the girls not to; it just works out like that sometimes. I don’t think [name_m]Artie[/name_m] and [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] are too terribly close. And, even if you don’t like the name [name_m]Art[/name_m], once your baby is an adult it’s really more about what he wants his friends to call him - nothing stopping you from calling him [name_m]Artie[/name_m] as long as you want.
I voted for [name_m]Felix[/name_m] because it is as you said, fun and spunky, and I find it by far the most delightful and appealing on your list. [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and [name_m]Peter[/name_m] are both ok and solid names, but just don’t delight me in the same way. I think all 3 names go well with the siblings, so that’s neither here nor there. [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m] is a great combo, and I think [name_m]Felix[/name_m] is great on a man as well as a child so don’t see any issues there.
I love [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] <3 If you’re worried about Artie sounding too close to Eddie, you could use the nickname Art instead?
