After conducting polls on nameberry (the advice of which I didn’t necessarily heed!) and mulling this over the course of a long babymoon, I think DH and I have settled on a first choice. We haven’t shared this with anyone yet as I’m not quite ready to seal the deal, so to speak. The birth is still four months away and I know that’s ample time for my fickle mind to change again. But in any case, I wanted to solicit some feedback on here and get the good, the bad and the ugly, overall impressions, etc. Please don’t hold back! Thanks
Our last name starts with “M” and is two syllables ending in “-er.” The middle names have significance for us – DH has a beloved Grandpa [name_m]Frank[/name_m] and [name_u]March[/name_u] is the month of my sister’s birthday and also the month DH and I were married (in secret!) before our official wedding date. [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] doesn’t have any particular significance for us other than that we like it and it’s a classic and familiar name that’s not in the top 1,000.
Thoughts? Like I said, don’t hold back with any negative commentary!
Negative commentary? Impossible! [name_m]How[/name_m] lovely is [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_u]March[/name_u]! It sounds like the name of the (imagined) fifth sister from [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women. Seriously, so gorgeous. [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_u]March[/name_u]… I’m just going to sit and think about this for a while, it feels like snuggling up under quilts, sipping hot chocolate and cuddling with adorable kitties in front of the fire place. Delicious, well done you!
Thanks, ottilie! Positive feedback also more than welcome I’ll admit I love [name_u]March[/name_u] not only for the personal reasons mentioned above but also because of the [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women connection.
Agreed - it is lovely. Although [name_u]March[/name_u] is one of the more unconventional month names, I think it adds a touch of quirky pizazz to the name, and the meaning behind it is admirable. Congratulations, can’t wait to hear about little [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]!
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_u]March[/name_u] is utterly, utterly divine. [name_m]How[/name_m] could anyone find anything negative to say about it?!
I love the fact that the middle names both have meaning to you, and I love the idea of using [name_u]March[/name_u], it really works in a MN spot.
Wow thanks I’m positively blushing over all the positive comments! Would still like to hear if anyone can spot any negatives or drawbacks but if not that’s fine too!
It’s beautiful! So classy yet still slightly quirky with the unexpected month name.
The only possible negative that I can see is that [name_u]March[/name_u] and your last name both start with M, but I really don’t think it’s even close to a big deal given the beautiful flow of the name in general, especially since that name is the second middle.
