My baby girl is due in 1 week and we are thinking that her first name will be [name]Clara[/name], but we are undecided on a middle name. Our last name begins with B and ends with S and is 3 syllables. I love spring time and flowers, birds, etc. The lily of the valley flowers are the epitome of girly spring to me, but have not bee a fan of “[name]Lily[/name]” for a name, though I am considering variations. I tend to like old fashioned names and names that are uncommon. Also found a trend in my tastes with names ending in “a” and “belle”, though I feel the letter “b” with our last name beginning with “b” may be too much. Seems I may be over thinking this… My husbands says his all time favorite name is [name]Brittany[/name]. He also likes [name]Leanna[/name] (with “ahnna” sound). Any suggestions?
We have considered middles for [name]Clara[/name]:
[name]Leanna[/name] (a name my husband likes)
[name]Marie[/name] (my middle name)
[name]Lillianna[/name]
Lilybelle
[name]Flower[/name] (my 3 yr old son’s suggestion)
[name]Starling[/name]
[name]Larkin[/name]
Previously we were considering first names such as:
[name]Emmaleigh[/name], [name]Emmalia[/name], [name]Emmeline[/name] (decided that they are too close to the popular [name]Emily[/name])
[name]Lydia[/name] (DH has said no because we know someone’s whose young daughter has this name!)
[name]Seraphina[/name] (our 13 y.o. dog is named [name]Sarah[/name] because I loved the name [name]Seraphina[/name] and frivioulsy used it for the dog 13 years ago by naming her [name]Sarah[/name]!).
We have also thought about the first name Claraleigh as a possibility, but lately have been leaning to simply [name]Clara[/name].
I think [name]Clara[/name] is very pretty. I love it.
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Jane[/name], [name]Clara[/name] [name]Jean[/name], [name]Clara[/name] [name]Marie[/name], [name]Clara[/name] [name]Kate[/name], [name]Clara[/name] [name]Paige[/name], [name]Clara[/name] [name]Faith[/name], [name]Clara[/name] [name]Dawn[/name].
I hope this helps:) Good luck.
Thank you. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Marie[/name] would be my pick from your suggestions. My 3 yo son would probably like [name]Clara[/name] [name]Jane[/name] as he loves the song “[name]Liza[/name] [name]Jane[/name]”.
[name]Clara[/name] [name]Britton[/name] would be very cute. I takes into consideration your husband’s love of [name]Brittany[/name] but gives a fresh and unique feel that would make [name]Clara[/name] special. GL!
Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe DH would like that. Our last name begins with B though, not sure if that will flow ok. My DH would be fine with the MN and LN both beginning with B, however.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Clara[/name]…such a beautiful name! I’m not a huge fan of [name]Clara[/name] with a middle name that ends in A, however…I feel like the sounds are too similar. I do love [name]Clara[/name] [name]Marie[/name] (my middle name as well!) and [name]Clara[/name] [name]Larkin[/name]…that’s a very fresh combination. Good luck!
Your 3 year old sounds like a cutie! Ha. Too funny. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Flower[/name] would be very precious but I’m not too sure it’d age well. I will second [name]Clara[/name] [name]Marie[/name] & [name]Clara[/name] [name]Jane[/name]. I also quite like [name]Clara[/name] [name]Liana[/name] (rather than the spelling of [name]Leanna[/name])
[name]Clara[/name] is beautiful. However, I don’t love any of your middle name choices. I’d choose [name]Clara[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name], which I think is an amazing combination!
I do like [name]Beatrix[/name] for MN, it was on my early FN lists, but not sure about MN and LN both beginning with B. Also last name ends in S, similar sound to [name]Beatrix[/name] ending. Maybe it would be fine to have MN and LN be similar in beginning and ending. I’ll ask DH his opinion.
I like just [name]Clara[/name] [name]Lily[/name]… I really like starling but I think [name]Clara[/name] [name]Starling[/name] doesn’t sound right due to repetition in ‘lar’…‘arl’ sounds…I would prefer [name]Clara[/name] [name]Rosabelle[/name] to Lilybelle or [name]Clara[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name] would be gorgeous too
Ooooh I love suggestion of [name]Clara[/name] [name]Lavender[/name] too!! [name]Clara[/name] [name]Lilac[/name] is so stunning too it [name]Lila[/name] for a safer choice…
Thank you. [name]Clara[/name] [name]Lily[/name] is simple and beautiful. And [name]Lily[/name] represent the [name]Lily[/name] of the [name]Valley[/name] flower that I love. Our last name is one that always needs to be spelled out and repeated for people to get, so going with short, simple names may be a good idea.
