So I’m due in a little over 2 weeks with our third child (girl #2), and we are struggling with names! We had a boys name picked out long ago ([name_u]Lionel[/name_u] [name_m]Peregrin[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]), but nothing feels right when I look through my girl names. I’m starting to get desperate! We really need some help coming up with/narrowing down a list of names. I love names with historical, literary, or nature connections. I also like names with cute/spunky nickname potential. My husband prefers more feminine names, but that’s about all the criteria he has. Here’s the meager list we’ve been able to come up with so far:
You have a lovely list. I really like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Hermione[/name_f] Avonlea for you. I think it fits the best with your other children, and the literary references are perfect. Good luck on whatever you decide!
You have a lovely list but I see your need to get it whittled down. [name_f]Do[/name_f] [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] go by their full names or do you use nicknames? For the purpose of suggestions I’m assuming nicknames so will consider the nicknames of this little one working alongside theirs? [name_u]Max[/name_u], [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], and…
My favourites are [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvana[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], and [name_f]Helena[/name_f]. Maybe you would also like [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f], especially for all the potential nicknames, or [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f]?
I actually really adore [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] for you from the nicknames you’ve listed - [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is great, too, of course, but [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] is a full name on its own and a variation that I’ve always had a soft spot for. It has such an international flavor, fits so nicely with [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], and you could still nickname it to [name_f]Nell[/name_f]/[name_f]Nellie[/name_f].
