So I am due in 2 weeks and we’ve gone through so many names but there is always a reason why
we end up changing our mind.
If anyone has some good name ideas or opinions on these names…I’d appreciate some help… Thanks!
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] is going to be the middle name.
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] or [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] (too common?)
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] - to me this is name leans towards being a girls name
[name_m]Jack[/name_m]/[name_m]Jackson[/name_m] - I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m]. In the US at least [name_m]Jack[/name_m] alone still feels quirky, but [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and all its spellings feel very overdone
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] - wonderful name, but it is increasingly popular, if that bothers you
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] - my favorite
[name_u]Bryn[/name_u] - again, a girls name to me. I have met several little girls with various spellings of this name, but no boys. However, it is a very nice name.
[name_m]Harlan[/name_m] ([name_u]Harley[/name_u]) - not my style, but nothing wrong with it
[name_u]Hudson[/name_u] - a close second behind [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] is a great name and works well as a middle to any of these options
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] is my favourite of the first names on your list, but in combination with [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], I think I like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] the best.
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] - this is a little trendy for me but I think it flows well and I love the nickname [name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_m]Jack[/name_m] or [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] - this is too common for me and I think the “n” and “m” sound run in together and sound really hard.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] - This is my favorite combination! I think [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is a refreshing name. I adore the nickname theo
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] - same as [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] it’s that “n” and “m” sound running into one another. It’s just consonant heavy
[name_u]Bryn[/name_u] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] - I feel like brynn is a feminine name so I wouldn’t use it personally
[name_m]Harlan[/name_m] ([name_u]Harley[/name_u]) [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] - I much prefer [name_u]Harley[/name_u] to [name_m]Harlan[/name_m] maybe even [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]?
[name_u]Hudson[/name_u] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] - same as [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] too hard sounding for me.
So my top 3 out of your choices are
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Malcom[/name_m]
[name_u]Harley[/name_u] [name_m]Malcom[/name_m]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_m]Malcom[/name_m]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]! Fun, quirky, and strong without being too heavy (if that makes sense!). [name_u]Love[/name_u] it. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] works well too, but I much prefer [name_u]Finley[/name_u]. Good luck
I like [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] but a PP mentioned the n and m endings or the son and com endings are too close [name_f]IMO[/name_f], [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] sounds strong and are two Celtic even Scottish names which complement each other, so I’d choose this strong handsome combo.
I agree that names ending in -n sound a little repetitive with [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] in the middle spot. It’s not a huge deal as middle names aren’t used on a daily basis and I’m assuming there is some significance behind [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] as you’re set on it for the middle. But if you’re looking for reasons to narrow down then it might be worth considering.
I really like [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] and think [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] is handsome too. [name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about the [name_u]Finlay[/name_u]/[name_m]Findlay[/name_m] spellings? I really like the traditional Scottish vibe these give together with [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], but perhaps that’s too much if the Scottish thing wasn’t intentional.
Any reason [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] can’t be the first name?
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_u]Finley[/name_u]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
If [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] is a close family member and you’re worried about confusion, you could call the baby by his middle name.
