Due in 2 weeks with first girl

I could really use some help deciding among my three favorite names. I’m due in two weeks with my first baby girl after having two adorable little boys. Their names are [name]John[/name] (nn [name]Johnny[/name]) and [name]Charles[/name] (nn [name]Charlie[/name]). I have a three syllable Polish last name that starts with M and ends in -ski. As you can tell I like traditional names and I also like to honor family members.
The middle name will be [name]Francesca[/name] after my grandmother. I absolutely love the names [name]Lily[/name], [name]Violet[/name], and [name]Juliet[/name]. Which do you think sounds best with the middle name and my boys’ names? Here are my thoughts/worries:

[name]Lily[/name]–My husband and I have been talking about naming a future daughter this for years. My first name means lily, the flower reminds me of my favorite aunt, and I think it’s so pretty, but…it’s so popular and I never pictured myself picking a trendy name. That takes away my love for it a little. Also is it too similar to [name]Charlie[/name]?

[name]Juliet[/name]–The -et ending is a way to honor my aunt, whose name was [name]Margaret[/name], I was an English teacher for years, and I have always thought this was a beautiful name. I worry about her being nicknamed [name]Julie[/name] though, which is just plain and boring to me.

[name]Violet[/name]–I think this name has the delicacy of [name]Lily[/name] but has a bit more edge to it. Again, the -et ending would honor my aunt. My husband is ok with it but I don’t think he loves it like the other two, and I want him to be happy too. He’s pretty much leaving it up to me though.

So Berries, what do you think? You have great taste and I’m going crazy trying to make up my mind! I’ve been waiting a long time for a little girl and I just want her to have the perfect name. I would so appreciate your thoughts.

When I chose names I try to see what works the best: [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] are my favourite out of the three. [name]Lily[/name] [name]Francesca[/name] I like out of the 3 with [name]Francesca[/name] as the middle name. I love the name [name]Francesca[/name]!!! Currently I adore Isola [name]Francesca[/name].

I think [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Francesca[/name] is beautiful. My second choice is [name]Lily[/name].

I think [name]Lily[/name], [name]Juliet[/name], and [name]Violet[/name] all work well with [name]Francesca[/name]. They are a little less traditional though than your boys’ names. What about [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Francesca[/name] nn [name]Lily[/name] as an alternative? I think [name]John[/name], [name]Charles[/name], and [name]Lillian[/name] work better as a sibset. Anyway you’d consider [name]Margaret[/name] as a fn? It works great with [name]John[/name] and [name]Charles[/name]! [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Francesca[/name] (nn [name]Maisie[/name], [name]Daisy[/name], [name]Maggie[/name], [name]Franny[/name], etc.) would be very classic but with the cuter nns. Another suggestion is [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Francesca[/name]-- it has the “et” in it, lots of cute nns ([name]Eliza[/name], [name]Liza[/name], [name]Lizzy[/name], [name]Betsy[/name], etc.), and is traditional like [name]John[/name] and [name]Charles[/name]. Also, if you love [name]Francesca[/name], you could use it as the fn and go with [name]Francesca[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]. [name]Frances[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] or [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Frances[/name] would be more in the traditional line of your boys’ names though.

Some other possibilities that I think work well with your sibset and with [name]Francesca[/name] as a mn are:

[name]Rose[/name]/[name]Rosemary[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Laura[/name]
[name]Grace[/name]
[name]Claire[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]

I love them all! [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] are my favorites though. While beautiful, [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Francesca[/name] M_____ski is a lot of name! It doesn’t flow as well as [name]Lily[/name] [name]Francesca[/name] or [name]Violet[/name] [name]Francesca[/name] does, imo, either.

[name]True[/name], [name]Lily[/name] is popular, but I think it’s rather classic and I love it next to [name]Johnny[/name] and [name]Charlie[/name]. I think [name]Lily[/name]'s the most classic (and since I know Lilys of all ages, [name]Lily[/name] is very classic to me–it just has a major shot of popularity atm!), and if you love it the most (which it seems like you might!) I would totally use it. I think [name]Lily[/name] and [name]Charlie[/name] are fine together (completely adorable, actually!). [name]Lily[/name] gets my vote, but I absolutely love [name]Violet[/name] and it’s an easy second choice–then again, both [name]Liliana[/name] (nn [name]Lily[/name]) and [name]Violet[/name] are both on my short list, too.

Good luck!

I would go with [name]Lily[/name]. Popularity fades, and it seems like you’re not as excited about the other two, not to mention that your husband isn’t crazy about [name]Violet[/name]. [name]John[/name], [name]Charles[/name] and [name]Lily[/name] are adorable and [name]Lily[/name] [name]Francesca[/name] sounds lovely.

[name]Lily[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] are my favorites … but [name]Lily[/name] [name]Francesca[/name] is the best! <3

This is tough. I would go with [name]Lily[/name] because it flows best with [name]Francesca[/name]. Second is [name]Violet[/name]. I think [name]Juliet[/name] is too long for the middle name [name]Francesca[/name]. [name]Lily[/name] is no more popular than [name]John[/name] when you look at [name]John[/name]'s history. It’s one of the 10 ten names of all time. I think it’s fine and with [name]Charlie[/name] as a nickname it’s not bad to both end it lee. [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Frances[/name] would flow better but I know [name]Francesca[/name] is the name. You could always shorten it and it still honors [name]Francesca[/name]. GL

If you use [name]Johnny[/name] and [name]Charlie[/name] most of the time [name]Lily[/name] has such a similar ending- which is OK but might lock you into a “y” ending name in the future if you have more children.
I prefer [name]Lily[/name] with you long last name.
[name]Violet[/name] is adorable- but I feel it is also a newly trending name.
[name]Juliet[/name] is lovely- I think [name]Julie[/name] is not a definate nn. [name]Julia[/name] might be worth a thought?
My suggestions for you:
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Alice[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]

I thik [name]Lily[/name] sounds the best with [name]John[/name] and [name]Charles[/name]. I know it’s really popular now and that can be off-putting, but you have a lot of personal meaning attached to this name and not everyone can say that. I also get the feeling you may regret it a little if you don’t use it. [name]Don[/name]'t worry how popular it is. If you love it, use it!

Thanks so much for all the quick replies! I’m still thinking about it. I did consider [name]Margaret[/name] as a first name, but don’t love it. I would love to use [name]Francesca[/name] as the first name but my husband dated a girl with this name a long time ago and will only agree to it as a MN. So I’m pretty set on one of the three above. But I truly appreciate all your thoughts and suggestions.

I like them all. I was just thinking, another nn option for [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Violet[/name] is [name]Etta[/name]. I think [name]Etta[/name] would go great with [name]Charlie[/name] and [name]Johnny[/name], and it would emphasize the family connection you are going for. [name]Lily[/name] is really nice too, though.

I vote for [name]Violet[/name] [name]Francesca[/name]. What a delightfully pretty name! I love [name]Juliet[/name] too, but I think [name]Violet[/name] flows better with [name]Francesca[/name].
