So we have a gal named [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] (middle name [name_u]June[/name_u]) pronounced european way… ONNEKA
my husband is eastern european, im canadian, but have dutch roots.(my mother born in holland)
So our top choice for a boy was [name_m]Larson[/name_m]. middle name unknown…i really like the middle name [name_m]Fox[/name_m]. [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m]! but maybe sounds silly too…
our top girl choice is [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. middle name [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] or [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]???
thoughts?
our backups or others we liked but not totally digging.
Boys-[name_m]Larson[/name_m]
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] (too popular i know too many baby henrys now…)
[name_m]Levi[/name_m]
[name_m]Levon[/name_m]
perhaps…
Cashiel (“[name_m]CASH[/name_m]”) not digging it with anneke…!!!
so i need help… I think it’ll still be[name_m]Larson[/name_m] or [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. Tell me they’re great, or why they aren’t great. and give me some fun middle name ideas for them both.
[name_m]Larson[/name_m] we are really stuck on a middle name. [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] is so catchy and cute together i love it. need something equal for the sibling.
To go with [name_m]Larson[/name_m], I really do love [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m], imo it is spunky and refreshing. [name_m]Larson[/name_m] is a good, strong name that is familiar yet uncommon and with [name_m]Fox[/name_m] I think it is sheer perfection!
I like the suggestion or [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_u]River[/name_u] but [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] is nice too although I don’t think I’d use it. [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is beautiful. It flow’s perfectly too which is always a bonus. [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] is stunning, I’ve surprisingly never heard the name before but really like it.
I think [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] are fantastic! [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is one of my favs. I would go with a short middle name for [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]:
I actually like [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m]. [name_m]Fox[/name_m] is a family name for me that I would love to use, plus I think the animals are so cool. [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] and [name_m]Larson[/name_m] work together because they both sound kind of Scandavian-European; and [name_m]Lars[/name_m] (if that was his nickname) is a Dutch variation on a name just like [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] is. The middle name [name_m]Fox[/name_m] gives it some modern spunkiness and surprise.
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u] - Like it a lot. [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] & [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] =
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] - I know it’s getting more popular. What about [name_m]Hendrik[/name_m]? Or a nickname such as [name_m]Harry[/name_m] or the Dutch [name_m]Heike[/name_m]?
[name_m]Levi[/name_m] - I am “meh” about [name_m]Levi[/name_m], it just doesn’t do anything for me.
[name_m]Levon[/name_m] - Never know how to say this. Rhymes with heaven, or is it luh-[name_m]VONN[/name_m]. Either way, I picture a 1970’s weatherman with big sideburns for some reason. Not good! lol
For boys, what about:
[name_m]Frederik[/name_m] nn [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]
[name_m]Isaak[/name_m]
Lanzo (LAHN-zo)
[name_m]Leon[/name_m]
[name_m]Liev[/name_m] ([name_u]LEE[/name_u]-ev) great meaning
[name_u]Theo[/name_u]
Tygo
For girls…
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - is really nice with [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] & [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is very sweet. What about [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] - since she might have otherwise been [name_m]Larson[/name_m]? Or, a nod to your husband’s background this time with something pretty like [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f]?
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] - I’m partial to this name. But not sure it works with [name_f]Anneke[/name_f], too much rhyming?
[name_u]Vida[/name_u] - [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] & [name_u]Vida[/name_u] has a great vibe. [name_f]Do[/name_f] people named [name_u]Vida[/name_u] get the “la vida loca” thing all the time though?!
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] - I like it. What about [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Marit[/name_f] or [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]? (the Dutch royal spelling :))
Everything peanut said! I like the comfortable (easy to say and spell) Germanic flavor of [name_m]Larson[/name_m] and [name_f]Anneke[/name_f] together. [name_m]Larson[/name_m] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] definitely is cool, and if that’s your style, go for it. I bet a little boy would enjoy having [name_m]Fox[/name_m] as a MN. If you prefer something more traditional, though, I’d probably turn to family/honor names that can be shortened to one syllable.
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is not my style, but I fully endorse it in your case. It fits stylistically (in terms of popularity and feel, if not origin), offers some cute nn possibilities, and has a beautiful meaning.
