Though I generally prefer [name]Eliza[/name] to [name]Elizabeth[/name], I think [name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] sounds best. Great classic name!

Honestly, I like them both. I’d use [name]Claire[/name] first, however, because if you don’t have another girl in the future, then [name]Lucy[/name] would make a cute addition to the family in the form of a dog, cat, rabbit, etc. [name]Lucy[/name] can be a pet name, whereas [name]Claire[/name] is totally human to me. And, please don’t take that as something wrong with [name]Lucy[/name] - it’s just that names with the Y ending seem more pet-friendly to me…

As for middle names for a Miss [name]Lucy[/name]…

[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Diana[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Helena[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Regina[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Veronica[/name]

[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cassandra[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] (my favorite!) are also cute…

[name]Hi[/name]! I voted for [name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], because while I love [name]Eliza[/name] so much, [name]Claire[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] sounds like [name]Clara[/name] [name]Liza[/name] to me when I say it out loud.

I really love [name]Lucy[/name], too, and I can honestly see both classic names with [name]James[/name] and [name]Noah[/name]. (I could just see [name]Claire[/name] a bit better…) Does one sound better with your last name?

(Sorry for repeats!):

[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Diana[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] (I pronounce [name]Elizabeth[/name] with an “uh” sound up front, not an long E sound, so if you don’t use a long E, I think this works)
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] (Then again, I hear a lot of ssss with [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]…)
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Madeline[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]

I love both of your [name]Lucy[/name] combos, but I’ll vote for [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Katherine[/name].

Good luck!

[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Alice[/name]

my vote goes for [name]Lucy[/name]…love your combo of [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Mae[/name]…

I voted for [name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] because it is just so perfectly classic!!! I do also love [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Mae[/name]…so cute! [name]Mae[/name] is one of my favorites and I don’t see it used too often…which is a good thing  I think each name is great in its own way but are very different so I guess it depends what you are going for. Have fun choosing!

I love [name]Claire[/name]! I prefer [name]Elizabeth[/name] to [name]Eliza[/name].

[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is nice although I might prefer [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] because of the Cs in both names. [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Mae[/name] is maybe too cutesy for me. And, I like the suggestion of [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Caroline[/name].

It looks like you like Classic names from your choices, and as i voted [name]Lucy[/name] i’d suggest mn of

[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Henriette[/name]
[name]Madeleine[/name]

I like the look of longer mn with [name]Lucy[/name] - hence the long suggestions.

Good luck xx

[name]Love[/name] [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]!!! So sweet!

Have you considered [name]Clara[/name]? I voted for [name]Claire[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]

http://babynamelover.wordpress.com/

I choose [name]Claire[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] because [name]Eliza[/name] is very similar to the classic name [name]Elizabeth[/name], but gives it a bit more of a unique twist! Very cute!

I love all your choices! I choose [name]Claire[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]- but I have to tell you that for me, I like [name]Eliza[/name] [name]Claire[/name] better…
Still, all of them are gerat choices!!

Voted for [name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] because, like [name]Jill[/name] said, when you say [name]Claire[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] it sounds like [name]Clara[/name] [name]Liza[/name]. I prefer [name]Claire[/name] to [name]Lucy[/name], but if you go with [name]Lucy[/name] I like the longer names that have been suggested. [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Mae[/name] is to cutesy to me.

Why not [name]Claire[/name] Lucielle or Lucielle [name]Claire[/name] nn [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Claire[/name]?

[name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is such a great combination!

I love both [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Lucy[/name].

[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Aveline[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Meredith[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Adele[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Cora[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Antonia[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Natalia[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Martina[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]

i prefer lucy to claire. lucy is a fun, happy, carefree name to me, while claire seems rather…musty, i guess. we have lucy on our short list with the mn marigold (for [name]MIL[/name], mary). i like lucy paired with a longer mn to kind of “anchor” it.

lucy marigold
lucy aurora
lucy arabella
lucy annabel

All are good choices but personally I prefer [name]Lucy[/name]. I love [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] or even [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Eliza[/name], other posters have suggested other great middles for [name]Lucy[/name] too - I like it with a 3 or 4 syllable middle.

[name]Claire[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] is a great choice too.

[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Adair[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Renee[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Anne[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Inez[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Amanda[/name]

I would have voted for [name]Claire[/name] [name]Eliza[/name], as I prefer [name]Eliza[/name] to [name]Elizabeth[/name], but I didn’t because it felt unfinished. Perhaps that is just a personal preference for syllable differentiation between first and middle names, but [name]Elizabeth[/name] flows better with [name]Claire[/name].

However, with a 2+ syllable first name, I would have chosen [name]Eliza[/name] as a mn. I just don’t think that it’s quite right for [name]Claire[/name].
