I’m hoping you can help me as I am due in 3 weeks but DH and I still can’t agree on a boy’s name.
I thought I would tell you about the ones we are throwing around to give you a sense of what we like… and I’m really hoping to hear your thoughts and ideas. Okay, here goes…
[name]Hi[/name] mill1020… yes we had thought of that too… actually we were trying to honour [name]Matthew[/name] which is a family name of great importance… and so we worked through all the options there.

I love [name]Cassius[/name] [name]Matthew[/name]! I also like [name]Matteo[/name], but not with [name]George[/name] as the middle. I think [name]Matteo[/name] [name]Cassius[/name] would be nice. You might also like [name]Cicero[/name], [name]Florian[/name], [name]Marius[/name], [name]Felix[/name], [name]Emile[/name], [name]Cornelius[/name], [name]Quentin[/name], [name]Leo[/name], [name]Lucius[/name]/[name]Lucien[/name], [name]Jasper[/name] or [name]Horatio[/name].
To me, the most important consideration is how the first name sounds with the last name the baby will have. First and middle flow are fun, and important at first with the birth announcement and all, but in the long run, your son will be known to everyone by first and last names…So without knowing that, I don’t know which to choose. [name]Marcel[/name] seems to be your first choice since you’ve listed it with the most middles, and I do think [name]Marcel[/name] is a great somewhat unusual name–still classic, somewhat soft, unisex without meaning to be.
Is your screen name ‘lacharles’ a reference to living in [name]Louisiana[/name]? Is that why you have the French name [name]Marcel[/name] under consideration? If so, I would strongly consider Matthieu. The stress is placed on the second syllable and is changes the meter up dramatically. I think [name]Cassius[/name] [name]Matthew[/name] falls a little flat, but [name]Cassius[/name] Matthieu works gorgeously! I also like [name]Orlando[/name] Matthieu quite a bit.
[name]Hi[/name] thuja, last name is [name]Howard[/name]. Does that help? We had [name]Marcel[/name] as front runner for months but suddenly turned off it a few weeks ago as couldn’t get the middle name to work. Also I was worried it was somehow too effeminate… But I do still like it.

In terms of rhythm, I think either [name]Orlando[/name] or [name]Matteo[/name] goes best with [name]Howard[/name]. In terms of the sibset of [name]Sylvie[/name] and [name]Claude[/name], I think [name]Marcel[/name] goes best. [name]George[/name] must be honoring? Ignoring all other considerations except sound and rhythm, I like [name]Orlando[/name] [name]George[/name] [name]Howard[/name] the best. But. Not sure about [name]Orlando[/name] with [name]Sylvie[/name] and [name]Claude[/name]…I also like [name]Marcel[/name] [name]Cassius[/name] [name]Howard[/name]!
