I am due in 7 weeks and we do not know what we are having. picking baby names has been a huge challenge because my husband and I have completely different taste! I like fresher more modern names and he likes more traditional names, mostly biblical. The only names we know for sure are the middle names because they are family names: if we have a boy his middle name will be [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] after my father in law and if we have a girl her middle name will be [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f] after my grandmother, which means pretty in Hebrew. Our last name is very vowel-y.
Here is our narrowed boy list for each gender, any feedback will be very helpful!
Congrats on your pregnancy! My fave would be [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] for a boy. [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] has been done to death for both genders so I don’t find it very interesting. I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] (this spelling) but it’s not ideal with [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] (s-heavy). I like the names [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] and [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] but they’re not ideal either with [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f] in the middle spot. If you don’t mind that fact and they sound good with your surname, my fave would be [name_f]Nadia[/name_f]. I don’t find [name_u]Sage[/name_u] very attractive and [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] is on par with [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] (overused). However, [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u] [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f] sound better than [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f] or [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f]. What a dilemma!
My favorite for a boy is [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] would be okay but it is very unisex. I would avoid [name_m]Issac[/name_m] because of the middle name [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and your last name has lots of vowels.
From your girls choices, I think I would go with [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f]. My second choice would be [name_u]Sage[/name_u] [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f]. [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] and [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] don’t flow well with [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f].

For the boys, I really like [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] because as the previous posters have stated, I find [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] (or any other variant of the spelling) to be overused and of course it is unisex so they might have a hard time. [name_m]Issac[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is too ‘S’ heavy for me and sounds quite slurred when you say it, sorry! [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is perfect though!
As for the girls, I really like [name_u]Sage[/name_u] [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f]! I think it sounds so perfect. My second choice would be [name_u]Sydney[/name_u] [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f], but again I think I have a problem with many unisex names, aha! I agree with the previous posters in thinking that both [name_u]Sasha[/name_u] and [name_f]Nadia[/name_f] don’t sound great with the middle names [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f]. I do however think that are beautiful names

I think [name_u]Sage[/name_u] is the only girl name that flows with [name_f]Yaffa[/name_f] but selfishly, I’d love for you to use something like [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], [name_f]Shoshana[/name_f], [name_f]Aviva[/name_f], or [name_f]Tova/name_f. PPs suggestion of [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is also very pretty and more subtle.
For boys, I like [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] but would also suggest [name_m]Moses[/name_m], [name_m]Zev[/name_m] (wolf), and [name_u]Lior[/name_u] (light).
