Hello, Nameberry!
I’m a mom-to-be due in a little over a month and my wife and I are having a hard time picking a name for our baby. We don’t know if we’re having a boy or a girl and since the pregnancy has been a complicated one, we haven’t had much time to think about it and we’re kind of freaking out right now.
A little background information: we’re a lesbian couple living in the United States and I’m a first-generation Italian immigrant, therefore I have a very long Italian last name and an Italian first name. My wife is American and she has a quite common first name and an Irish last name, starting with C and ending in N (think of something like [name_m]Coleman[/name_m]). Both of our last names starts with C and although we don’t know which one we’ll be giving to our child, it’s more likely that he/she will have my wife’s last name. We would like to give our child a short name that flows well with both of our last names (just in case the baby ends up with mine) and doesn’t start with C. We would also like to find a name that is Italian or easy to pronounce in Italian, since my side of the family doesn’t speak English. The middle name will probably be [name_m]Christian[/name_m]/[name_f]Christine[/name_f] (my grandmother’s anglicized name), but we’re open to suggestions!
To summarize: we’re looking for an Italian/Italian-sounding first name, must not start with C and has to go well with a last name similar to [name_m]Coleman[/name_m] AND a long Italian last name starting with C, should be short (not more than 6-7 letters) and flow well with [name_m]Christian[/name_m]/[name_f]Christine[/name_f] (middle name suggestions are more than welcome!). Thank you so much in advance, any help is greatly appreciated, we’re completely lost!
