I don’t even know what to do anymore. I have known this whole time that I would need to see her before I could name her, like I did with my son, but with my son I had a much shorter list. FYI his name is [name_m]Archer[/name_m]. So something that can keep up with an [name_m]Archer[/name_m] would be great. I like old, classic names and I like modern names but would rather her not be the fifth [name_u]Addison[/name_u] in her class. Anyway… I’m so sorry for the long list, this is my husbands and my own combined lists. If anyone wants to contribute with “absolutely not this one” or a “definitely this one” or “have you considered this one” that would be awesome.

You have some awesome name ideas! I like a lot of the Scandinavian names like [name_f]Freya[/name_f] and [name_u]Dagny[/name_u], but I think the initials FF just looks…bad :wink: I tend to like names that look nice as initials, so with harsh letters like “F” I like vowels like “E” or “A” (maybe I’m crazy).
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] is adorable, classic but modern and not to foofoo, and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] & [name_m]Archer[/name_m] sounds so cute! I also like [name_f]Mira[/name_f]. Have you considered [name_f]Iona[/name_f] or [name_f]Sybil[/name_f]?

Key rule - always choose a name that you can’t imagine a kid being unhappy with, troubleshoot all things bullies could do with a name (example: [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] is a lovely name but kids will almost definitely be calling this girl Anal-Ease), eschew all trendy or misspelled names - [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f], [name_m]Cayden[/name_m], [name_u]Brayden[/name_u], [name_m]Brycen[/name_m], [name_f]Bryleigh[/name_f] - names like these are just criminal! If you have to justify a name every time you tell it to people you’re doing it wrong. Cardinal rule - choose something that will fit from childhood through old age. An 80-year-old [name_f]Sydnee[/name_f] or a 6-year-old [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] is just completely incongruous.
