Due In Less Than Two Weeks

Hello. This board has been so helpful in the hunt to find a name for our first daughter. However, we can’t seem to settle.

Right now there are 3 names on the short list and the babe is due in less than two weeks.

Which would you chose?

[name]Lila[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]

Thanks!

I love [name]Lila[/name] but I think that it is becoming quite popular so i would go for [name]Nora[/name]

[name]Fiona[/name]! [name]Lila[/name] is becoming extremely popular, not to mention the Lilys and the Leilas. [name]Nora[/name] is pretty, but its a bit brief and I think it lacks personality (I think I prefer it as a short form for [name]Eleanora[/name]). [name]Fiona[/name] is simply beautiful - very sophisticated but with a fun and playful personality to it. [name]Just[/name] an all around great name!

I’d choose [name]Nora[/name] but all the names are lovely!

I love [name]Lila[/name] so much, popular or not (it was ranked 168 for last year on the SSA list). [name]Nora[/name] would be my second choice. Its a lovely name as well!

I like [name]Nora[/name].

[name]Fiona[/name]! [name]Fiona[/name]! [name]Fiona[/name]!

[name]Lila[/name] is cute, but it doesn’t sparkle for me. It is a bit young in my mind, but still very pretty. I don’t see it standing out from [name]Lily[/name]'s and [name]Lola[/name]'s, though. [name]Nora[/name] is just one of those names that has always rubbed me the wrong way, so I have a biased negative opinion. It just sounds a little, well, bland to me, whereas [name]Fiona[/name] sounds energetic, playful, elegant, and feminine. I’d choose [name]Fiona[/name] in a heartbeat!

Good luck!

[name]Lemon[/name]

[name]Fiona[/name] all the way! [name]Lila[/name] is cute but it’s really just that for me. I prefer [name]Lily[/name] but unfortunately, it is too popular for me. I think your little [name]Lila[/name] would be lost in a sea of Lilys, [name]Layla[/name], Leahs and other [name]Lilas[/name]. [name]Nora[/name] is a nice nickname for [name]Eleanor[/name]/[name]Eleanora[/name] (both of which I love.) [name]Fiona[/name] is an adorable name for a toddler but it is also distinguished and elegant on an adult, a quality which I think [name]Lila[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] (by itself) both lack.

Good luck!

[name]Nora[/name]! Vintage, sweet and perfect. [name]Lila[/name] is getting popular, as the others have mentioned, and for me, [name]Fiona[/name] lacks both pizazz and substance.

Good luck! [name]Auburn[/name]

I love both [name]Fiona[/name] and [name]Nora[/name] but I vote [name]Fiona[/name]. While I find [name]Nora[/name] very attractive, it feels a little lacking to me…more like a NN. Maybe you’d like a comprimise between the two: [name]Finola[/name] NN [name]Nola[/name]? I still like [name]Fiona[/name] more though.

would you use the same middle name for each name? all of them are great so you can’t go wrong but I was just curious if they each have different middle name options

all are lovely names, so you cant go wrong. my vote goes to [name]Nora[/name].
good luck and let us know what you decide (:

love [name]Lila[/name]! it gets my vote

[name]Fiona[/name]! I love it; it’s one of my favorites. [name]Lila[/name] is nice but so trendy-- I know of three born in the last year. [name]Nora[/name] just doesn’t seem interesting to me.

All three are nice names though, you really can’t go wrong!

[name]Fiona[/name] is my favorite, very beautiful and uncommon. [name]Nora[/name], I also love but know several babies named [name]Nora[/name] in the last 3 years. But, go with what you really love regardless of popularity!

Thanks for all of the feedback - it seems that each name has its fans!! I guess that is what is making the choice so difficult . . .

As for a middle, we are using the same name - [name]James[/name] - (family name) and the last name is similar to below:

[name]Nora[/name] [name]James[/name] [name]Connolly[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name] [name]James[/name]

i know a baby [name]Fiona[/name] and find it to be just the ugliest name. Gorgeous baby, horrible name. Sounds like a pony’s name to me. This is just my impression – don’t know where I got it from.

[name]Norah[/name] and [name]Nola[/name] are very, very pretty.

I think I may have to switch teams now that I know your MN choice. [name]Nora[/name] [name]James[/name] sounds a lot better then [name]Fiona[/name] [name]James[/name] [name]IMO[/name]. I still think [name]Fiona[/name] is the better name though.

[name]EDIT[/name] hrmm, when I say just FN+MN I prefer [name]Nora[/name] but when I say FN+MN+LN & FN+LN I prefer [name]Fiona[/name]. Soooo, I’m switching back to the [name]Fiona[/name] team

[name]Annora[/name] [name]James[/name]?

Out of your list, [name]Fiona[/name]. I love [name]Finola[/name], nn [name]Nola[/name].
