My favorites are [name_m]Simon[/name_m], [name_m]Frank[/name_m], [name_m]Desmond[/name_m], and [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]. [name_u]Desi[/name_u] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] would make a fantastic sibling set, [name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_f]Amaya[/name_f] and [name_m]Desmond[/name_m] [name_m]Malone[/name_m].

[name_m]Desmond[/name_m] [name_m]Malone[/name_m] is nice but my husband picked his top 2 from my top 10, so it’s definitely either [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] or [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] as a first name. Thank you, though.

Sorry, I skimmed the post while doing something else. My vote would be for [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] or [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m].

No problem. [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is very nice as well. Thank you for the suggestion!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Maya[/name_f] & [name_m]Mac[/name_m]!

[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m]!

I really like [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m]. [name_u]Ray[/name_u] is such a great nickname.

I voted for [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Roger[/name_m], but [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is ok too. I love [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m].

[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] nn [name_m]Mac[/name_m] is so handsome! He sounds like an English gentleman, [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] in Notting [name_m]Hill[/name_m] type. My second favorite is [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m], [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] is one of my favorite boy names.

I prefer [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] ([name_m]Mac[/name_m]) as the first name and would definitely choose [name_m]Roger[/name_m] as the middle. That way, both of you get your favourite name in there, and they sound great together.

I saw this poll up last night but took some time to think it over. I really like both [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] and [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] quite a bit - you really can’t go wrong. Ultimately, I voted for [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m]. [name_u]Ray[/name_u] is just so charmingly old-fashioned and effortlessly cool. I’d love to meet a little boy named [name_m]Raymond[/name_m].

Thank you everyone! I agree that [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is very nice but am not too fond of the MF initials.

[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] seems like a much preferred first name. I must admit I like [name_u]Ray[/name_u] better than [name_m]Mac[/name_m] as a nickname so I’m having a very hard time deciding. Would [name_m]Cole[/name_m] be an acceptable nickname for [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]?

If [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] [name_m]Roger[/name_m] didn’t sound so silly then this would be much easier. I’ll be sitting on the decision for a few more days but I would be interested in hearing any helpful thoughts or associations that I haven’t considered yet.

Thanks dizzy for checking in, too

I voted for [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] as well! I really love the name Malclom!
Other ideas:
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Drake[/name_m]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Harvey[/name_m] (from your list)
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Harris[/name_m] (I think this flows better than [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Harold[/name_m] would)
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Cole[/name_m]

[name_f]Happy[/name_f] naming!

I love [name_m]Raymond[/name_m]! He’s so old-manish, charming and effortlessly cool! Definitely [name_u]Ray[/name_u]!

In regards to your response asking about using [name_m]Cole[/name_m] as a nickname instead of [name_m]Mac[/name_m] for [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] - I think it’s definitely acceptable however something to think about is if your daughter decides to one day go by her formal first name instead of [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. Would having a [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and a [name_m]Cole[/name_m] bother you? I think it’s similar to [name_f]Maya[/name_f] & [name_m]Mac[/name_m], nicknames can be tricky to plan for if they don’t stick! Then if she chooses to stay [name_f]Maya[/name_f], but your son doesn’t want to be [name_m]Cole[/name_m] and prefers [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m], would the double M be too matchy for you? You asked for associations or opinions you may not have thought of so I just wanted to put that out there.

I personally don’t think the double letter in a sibset is bad, even though it is not my preference to do so. I would go with [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] [name_m]Grant[/name_m], though, if you find it’s something you’d rather avoid!

Good luck & thanks for coming back for each step of your little name bracket. It’s been fun to see how it plays out!

I like [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] nn [name_u]Ray[/name_u] and feel it is a better contrast with [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. I also like [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] and [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m].

dalolud you bring up a great point. It seems that most of the members following my naming journey agree that [name_m]Raymond[/name_m] is a better fit. I am much more drawn to it than [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]. I think I am just having a hard time letting [name_m]Roger[/name_m] go.

The matching letters wouldn’t bother me since they are both nicknames. [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_m]Cole[/name_m] together does sound off to me… it’s safe to say [name_m]Cole[/name_m] is not a good option for us. Thank you for your input!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the nickname [name_m]Mac[/name_m] for [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]

[name_m]Little[/name_m] [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] ([name_m]Mac[/name_m]) [name_m]Roger[/name_m] arrived two weeks early on [name_f]Easter[/name_f] [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]! We are home now and have taken to calling him [name_m]Mac[/name_m]-[name_f]Ro[/name_f] (Micro Macro) unexpectedly. We intend to call him [name_m]Mac[/name_m] or the full [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] when he’s no longer an infant. Thank you all for your help naming our son!
