[name_m]Hi[/name_m] All! I’m expecting my third baby boy in about three weeks – a little brother to [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Nate[/name_m]) – and we still haven’t settled on a name.
We tend to like classic names that are not too popular, and that can travel well outside the US (we have a multicultural family, and have spent some time abroad). Although we are not religious, our boys’ names have saintly/biblical roots, so we don’t mind looking there for inspiration. Here are our current top contenders:
I really like [name_m]Felix[/name_m] and [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] with your two boys’ names. I also like [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] & [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], but they have the name ending as [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. Not sure if that would bother you or not.
My favourite boys’ name right now is [name_m]Julian[/name_m], so that gets my vote. I also really love [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], but I think the strong religious association with that name keeps me from adding it to my list, as I am also not religious at all. However if that doesn’t bother you, I think it is a very handsome sounding name and would be my second choice.
I like many of the names you have under consideration! Of them the one that jumped out at me as a sibling to your older sons’ was the name [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]. It just seems to fit perfectly.
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m] gets my vote! I also like [name_m]Julian[/name_m], [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] with brothers [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m].
I like [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], but wouldn’t use them because they end like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. That being said, I like [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] and [name_m]Jonah[/name_m].
Other suggestions that I can imagine with your other boys’ names:
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] these choices. [name_m]Felix[/name_m], [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] and [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] are my favorites, then [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_u]Theo[/name_u]. But these are all great names, you can’t go wrong. Congratulations!
I like [name_m]Titus[/name_m]. But that sounds a little too similar to [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] is a neat name, and something you don’t hear too often. I also really love [name_u]Theo[/name_u], which I think would fit nicely with your other two.
I’d go with [name_m]Jonah[/name_m] or [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] personally, think they make a good set with [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] and [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. All strong boys names with different sounds.
I have very similar likes to you with boys, [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] is my favourite. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nn [name_m]Gabe[/name_m]. Also a big fan of [name_m]Julian[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Jules[/name_u]). I love the name [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], but would have [name_u]Theo[/name_u] as nn only. I love [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_m]Felix[/name_m] too and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] is always a good classic name.
I don’t like [name_m]Jonas[/name_m]/[name_m]Jonah[/name_m] or [name_u]Orion[/name_u]. [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] is not bad.
Congrats on your third boy! We also have three boys and our oldest is [name_m]Leo[/name_m], who we named after my grandpa. It’s such a great name. He learned how to spell it very easily, loves that his name means lion, and I love that you can’t pinpoint the year or even decade he was born because of his name.
