Due this week - need boy name - HELP!

Ok so I am due this week and have just discovered that husband hates the name we supposedly settled on so we are back to the drawing board! The name we had chosen was [name]Case[/name], but he now is saying he’s not a fan. He has been set from the get go on [name]Hunter[/name], but I’m not sold on it since it’s trending so much right now. We have a three syllable last name ending in “-ON” so we have been looking for a shorter first name. I like more original/cutting edge names while he prefers traditional names (I have a very original name and he does not). It’s been hard to find a name that meets both of our criteria. I really like names that start with the letter C or R, but not set on either. Any help is appreciated! Some names on the list (but open to new suggestions please!!)

[name]Beau[/name]
[name]Cason[/name] ([name]Case[/name])
[name]Cash[/name]
[name]Chase[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name]
[name]Ryan[/name]
[name]Sully[/name]
[name]Tobin[/name]
[name]Tripp[/name]
[name]Wyatt[/name]

Middle names: [name]Robert[/name], [name]William[/name] or [name]James[/name] (all family names)

Thanks!
G

[name]Hi[/name], I am sure that we can find a good combo that you love. If you are set on the middle names that you have listed I think you could make a three name combo (see below).

Combo

[name]Cruz[/name] [name]Wyatt[/name] or [name]Cruz[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Wyatt[/name] or [name]Cruz[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Lucas[/name] [name]Elliott[/name] or [name]Lucas[/name] [name]Elliott[/name] [name]James[/name] or [name]Lucas[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Toby[/name] [name]Ryder[/name] or [name]Toby[/name] [name]William[/name] [name]Ryder[/name] or [name]Toby[/name] [name]Robert[/name] [name]Ryder[/name] or [name]Toby[/name] [name]Robert[/name]
[name]Andrew[/name] [name]Tripp[/name] or [name]Andrew[/name] [name]James[/name] [name]Tripp[/name] or [name]Tripp[/name] [name]Andrew[/name]
[name]Tate[/name] [name]Carson[/name] or [name]Tate[/name] [name]Carson[/name] [name]Robert[/name] or [name]Tate[/name] [name]William[/name]
[name]Beau[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] or [name]Beau[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] [name]James[/name] or ([name]Beau[/name] [name]Robert[/name], said the French way)

best wishes

Of the names you like, [name]Ryan[/name], [name]Lucas[/name], [name]Chase[/name], [name]Tobin[/name], and [name]Wyatt[/name] actually have a fair amount of history for your husband. I would think he could find something to anchor them (although I can see how [name]Chase[/name] sounds a lot like [name]Case[/name]!). I also think [name]Hunter[/name] is maybe not quite as traditional as your husband thinks nor as trendy as you might think. I don’t think it’s really popular to begin with (in most areas), and even popular names really aren’t used on so many babies in most cases. At any rate, seems like you both like surname names? I can never think of a lot of those, but you might search some lists.

Names that also seem like they might have middle ground, especially using a middle name:
[name]Caleb[/name] (nn [name]Cale[/name] or [name]Cal[/name])
[name]Callum[/name] (nn [name]Cale[/name] or [name]Cal[/name])
[name]Calvin[/name] (nn [name]Cale[/name] or [name]Cal[/name])
[name]Carter[/name]
[name]Carson[/name]
[name]Charles[/name] (nn [name]Chaz[/name] or Caz)
[name]Daniel[/name] (nn [name]Dane[/name])
[name]Dashiell[/name] (nn [name]Dash[/name])
[name]Duncan[/name]
[name]Drake[/name] (captures some feeling/sound from [name]Case[/name], some energy/masculinity from [name]Hunter[/name])
[name]Gray[/name]/[name]Grey[/name]
[name]Grayson[/name]/[name]Greyson[/name]
[name]Jacob[/name] (nn [name]Jagger[/name] or [name]Jago[/name]?)
[name]James[/name] (to me has a similar feel to [name]Case[/name]. nn [name]Jem[/name], [name]Jagger[/name], [name]Jago[/name]?)
[name]Jameson[/name]
[name]Malcolm[/name] ([name]Mac[/name]?)
[name]Nathan[/name]/[name]Nathaniel[/name] (nn [name]Nate[/name] or [name]Tate[/name])
[name]Raphael[/name]/[name]Rafael[/name] (nns Raf(f), [name]Rafe[/name])
[name]Shane[/name]
[name]Zane[/name]

Good luck! I’m sure there are more out there!

[name]Beau[/name], [name]Cason[/name] ([name]Case[/name]), [name]Cash[/name], [name]Chase[/name], [name]Lucas[/name], [name]Ryan[/name], [name]Sully[/name], [name]Tobin[/name], [name]Tripp[/name], and [name]Wyatt[/name] make me think of:

[name]Ace[/name]
[name]Blake[/name]
[name]Arlo[/name]
[name]Brock[/name]
[name]Clint[/name]
[name]Duke[/name]
[name]Colt[/name]
[name]Mack[/name]
[name]Crew[/name]
[name]Grant[/name]
[name]Rex[/name]
[name]Clay[/name]
[name]Reid[/name]
[name]Jett[/name]
[name]Alex[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name]
[name]Rider[/name]
[name]Mitch[/name]
[name]Ross[/name]
[name]Wolf[/name]
[name]Axel[/name]
[name]Cael[/name]
[name]Ian[/name]
[name]Leo[/name]
[name]Noel[/name]
[name]Liam[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]

Hmmm… have you thought about [name]Carter[/name]? It’s got the [name]Ca[/name] of “[name]Case[/name]” and the “ter” of [name]Hunter[/name]??

From your list, I really like [name]Tobin[/name] and Lucus and [name]Wyatt[/name].

[name]Just[/name] a note…sometimes close to the due date people get cold feet about names. I was given great advice to go into the birth with a short list and then let your gut decide once the baby is born. It’s possible when your husband sees his son, he will fall in love with “[name]Case[/name]” again.

Well given than your ln end in -on I would avoid a fn that ends in the same sound.

Some suggestions:
[name]Sawyer[/name]
[name]Thatcher[/name]
[name]Carter[/name]
[name]Finn[/name]
[name]Reese[/name]
[name]Blake[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name]
[name]Callum[/name]
[name]Tate[/name]
[name]Conrad[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Brice[/name]
[name]Pierce[/name]
[name]Grant[/name]
[name]Levi[/name]

Thanks all for your suggestions, this is really helpful! I appreciate them all and have pulled together a list for my hubby to look at based on all of your feedback. Maybe it is just cold feet and we will ultimately go with [name]Case[/name]. I will let you all know what we end up coming up with!
