We love the name and think it’s perfect, but our one concern is him being called “dookie/dukey.” Yes, we can ask people not to do so, but we’re wondering if this is something that will still happen. Thoughts? Is it silly to fret over such a thing?
Kids are made fun of for their names far lass often now than in the past because uncommon names are becoming the new normal. I wouldn’t worry too much about teasing.
I don’t think that would be much of a concern. that’s not really a commonly known term here (it took me a few minutes to realize what was so bad about it). Not sure if it’s more commonly said elsewhere but it seems like really dated slang here that most kids won’t even think to use.
It will probably happen, but it’s not the end of the world. I knew a girl who went to [name_m]Duke[/name_m] and after her acceptance letter everyone called her and the school Dookie and made songs about it (lovingly, they were all her friends). Kids will tease one way or another, [name_m]Duke[/name_m] is a handsome name so I wouldn’t let hypothetical bullies put you off of it
This name is gorgeous. I would go for it!
That’s an amazing name first off!
I wouldn’t worry about that. I can’t see it happening often enough to really bother you, if it even happens.
