Dyla?

I came across the name Dyla in a book I was reading a couple weeks ago. It’s not in Nameberry’s database, so maybe the author just made it up. But I kinda like it! What do you guys think?

In the book, Dyla’s had a twin brother named [name]Darius[/name].

Would it be “dee-lah” or “dye-luh”? I like “dye-luh”. It’s different, but cool. I’d like to meet a Dyla.

I like the sound, but it looks a bit funny. What about Dilah? I like [name]Dinah[/name] and [name]Della[/name] too.

@dindlee, while I was reading, I pronounced it dye-luh. Like [name]Kyla[/name] or [name]Lyla[/name]. I’m not sure how the author meant for it to be pronounced.

I like it, although I would choose to spell it Daela - although Dyla would be more straight-forward.

When I saw the post I thought this would be about a femme version of [name]Dylan[/name] so I read it as Dill-uh but with the Dye-luh pronunciation I like it a bit more. Could be a cute nn for a girl named [name]Delilah[/name]!
