Our last name is Feuer - sounds like ‘foyer’. We have a little girl named [name]Sarah[/name] - 2yrs - and boy is on the way.
We’re completely stuck with English names that begin with E, and we need an E for family tradition - first initial of a recently departed loved one.
We like [name]Edmund[/name], [name]Edison[/name], [name]Edward[/name], but don’t want to use b/c we dont like the nicknames [name]Ed[/name] or [name]Eddie[/name] (no offense!) that are bound to come. We can’t be these parents that go around insisting people use baby’s full name. >_<
So we’re kind of at a loss. We have a couple of likes, but nothing’s really ‘clicked’. Some untainted, impartial input would be awesome.
I like [name]Everett[/name] a lot. Other ideas: [name]Elliott[/name], [name]Evan[/name], [name]Emmett[/name], [name]Ellis[/name], [name]Elias[/name], [name]Easton[/name], [name]Elijah[/name], [name]Ezra[/name].
Good luck! At least there are a lot of options with ‘E’!
I like your pics, I had a feeling [name]Ernest[/name] would make the list!
[name]Eli[/name]- energetic, stands on its own and doesn’t have to be a nn for [name]Elijah[/name] et al.
[name]Ernest[/name]- the only drawback for me is nn [name]Ernie[/name], but I that’s just me. The best name association I have is [name]Oscar[/name] Wilde’s “The Importance of Being [name]Earnest[/name]” and [name]Collin[/name] [name]Firth[/name] was adorable in the movie.
[name]Ewan[/name]- sounds great with sis [name]Sarah[/name], sounds cute on a kid, sounds good with your surname, and sounds mature on an adult. Its familiar through actor [name]Ewan[/name] [name]MacGregor[/name].
We like [name]Ewan[/name] because it’s an unconventional ‘E’ pronunciation. That said, with a surname that’s hard to pronounce for most in the US---- perhaps it’s too much.
[name]Ernest[/name] -> [name]Ernie[/name] is also not great.
Perhaps it’s [name]Eli[/name]. No nn, everyone gets it instantly, and it’s short and easy to write.
We’re not big on middle names. Wife is Japanese, japan is a no middle name country.
Thanks for the ideas and input!
