Eason for a 1st name --wdyt?

My Grandma’s maiden name was Eason and I am just wondering how it would work as a fn for our next ds. we have an [name]Evan[/name] [name]James[/name] and I was thinking of Eason [name]Reed[/name] or maybe Eason [name]Mark[/name] for a name… [name]How[/name] would that work with [name]Evan[/name] – too much “E” ? [name]Just[/name] a thought… Please give me your thoughts and suggestions… Thanks!

I think Eason is a little awkward to say, because it’s not [name]Easton[/name], and it’s not [name]Ethan[/name]. I like the look of it though. I think it’d work better as mn.

I think it’s a little too close to [name]Evan[/name]. [name]Mark[/name] Eason would be handsome!

Thanks, I do like [name]Mark[/name] Eason a lot better – just didn’t occur to me to use as a mn -!!! what about [name]Benjamin[/name] Eason - does that sound good? I do like [name]Benjamin[/name] as a fn too…

[name]Mark[/name] Eason
[name]Benjamin[/name] Eason

I like both of those combos.

I love Eason [name]Reed[/name]. I would actually recommend keeping Eason as the 1st name, if you plan on calling him Eason anyways. Everyone who meets him will not know him as Eason [name]Reed[/name] ______ or [name]Mark[/name] Eason ________, they’ll simply know him as Eason _______. Hardly anyone will even hear his whole name, basically just close family (and your adult friends who read the birth announcement), so to switch it around to get the perfect flow doesn’t seem worth it. If the MN’s sounded terrible with it then that would be different, but I think you could find a great MN for it. I just knew a lot of boys who went by their middle names and they all got extremely embarrassed whenever anyone found out it wasn’t their “real” name. And once you get to know someone by their MN the unused first name never seems to fit the person.

Eason is interesting, I think it definitely works as a name in general, but my only concern is that [name]Evan[/name] and Eason sound really, really matchy to me. What about something like [name]Jackson[/name] Eason or [name]Benjamin[/name] Eason? [name]Porter[/name] Eason?

Good luck!

I love Eason. I’m a huge fan of family names and [name]IMO[/name], this gives you the same sound as [name]Easton[/name] and [name]Ethan[/name] (a very popular/sought-after sound right now) while keeping it unique to your family and making it special. That makes it a huge hit with me. And Eason [name]Reed[/name] sounds lovely. Gorgeous and special name.

It does sound similar to [name]Evan[/name], but with the different “e” sounds, totally different middle sounds, and ever-so-slightly different ending sounds, maybe it’s different enough? That’s really something only you can decide. If you decide to use it as a middle, I think [name]Benjamin[/name] Eason sounds amazing. [name]Love[/name] it.

It might be a little too close to [name]Evan[/name] but I really like Eason! It’s very cool.

I don’t dislike it, but I’d much prefer it as a middle. ‘Eason’ sounds a bit like a mispronunciation of ‘[name]Reason[/name]’ or ‘[name]Easton[/name]’ or…something.

I really like Eason & don’t see it a mispronunciation as anything else. It’s lovely as a fn, but I think in your case, to nip lifelong matchiness in the bud, I would use it as a mn. [name]Both[/name] [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Benjamin[/name] are GREAT with it and [name]Evan[/name], but I think [name]Benjamin[/name] has the edge. [name]Both[/name] [name]Ben[/name] & [name]Evan[/name] / [name]Mark[/name] & [name]Evan[/name] - swoon!

Def too close to [name]Evan[/name]. I prefer it as a middle name too.

Eason reminds me of the father of [name]Jason[/name] from Greek mythology, Aeson. I think it could work up front, but with an [name]Evan[/name] already, that it’s a little too much E &-an. The middle spot is very handsome with [name]Benjamin[/name] Eason or [name]Mark[/name] Eason.
