[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone,
I would like to know your opinions and thoughts on the name [name_u]Echo[/name_u] for a girl. The name has been really growing on me… Also, middle name suggestions are very welcome! Thank you!
I like it in theory? I think in practice it might be difficult.
I love the combo Echo Loren (or Lauren if you prefer instead!)
I do agree though, in practice I only know one child named Echo, and I’m not sure how well it works. If you love it though, go for it!
I love Echo! Such a sweet name. I agree with PP, it might cause issues in practice, but I don’t think that should stop you from using or liking the name.
In pratice it may be a bit much for a girl to wear, but I think if you love it, you should use it! With the growing popularity of other mythology-related names like [name_f]Juno[/name_f] , [name_f]Athena[/name_f] etc. it really isn’t all that “out-there”.
[name_u]Brave[/name_u] choice? Yes. Great choice? I think so! For some reason it gives me a nature name vibe, more than anything. I suppose I think of calling into caves, coves and wells to hear an echo! I find it beautiful and ethereal, yet grounded enough to be usable.
I know a college age Echo and the only comment I’ve heard when with her is that it’s a cool name. I might pair it with something more traditional or feminine for balance like…
Echo Lenora
Echo Josephine
Echo Adeline
Echo Charlotte
Echo Amelia
I have come across a little girl called [name_u]Echo[/name_u]. I was delighted and it felt quite charming. I would pair it with something more traditional:
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]
I know of a girl named [name_u]Echo[/name_u]. I think it works
Ooh I really like [name_u]Echo[/name_u]! It’s so cool!
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Luella[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Sarai[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Winona[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Melina[/name_f]
I love it but I personally wouldn’t be brave enough!
I really like [name_u]Echo[/name_u]! It has been growing on me. I would pair it with a more traditional name as PP have suggested.

As a first name almost unusable in real life unless you live in a country where the word isn’t used. There’s just too much possibility of her hearing an “echo” from other people all the time - there may be some kids than can handle this but you’re not guaranteed to have one of those; it would have bothered me to no end as a child if other people constantly repeated what I said. And, to be completely honest, I don’t think this falls into the “if you love it, use it” category of names but rather in the “if you love your child, please reconsider”.
However, as a middle name I think it’s perfectly fine to use; and if your child is one of those really popular kids that no one dare insult, then perhaps they can choose to go by it. [name_u]Or[/name_u] if they grow up to become an adult who wants a fun and creative name, they can choose it for themselves. [name_u]Or[/name_u] even as a pet name only used by the parents/family, I think that’s totally works as well.
Absolutely adore it! I think it works in a world of Junos. And if parents can use [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] without worrying about ped- related teasing, I don’t see why you can’t use [name_u]Echo[/name_u] which is comparatively much less vile! Kids will always find something to tease about if they want to.
The only pause I would give is regarding the story about the nymph who fell in love with [name_m]Narcissus[/name_m] and loved him so much she faded away until all that was left was the sound of her voice. It’s kind of a sad story. But if you don’t mind then that’s great!
It’s also great because it’s so uncommon but so easy to spell and pronounce.
I’d be absolutely thrilled to meet an [name_u]Echo[/name_u] of any age.
It’s a yes from me!!
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Celandine[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Winona[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Heloise[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_u]Florentine[/name_u]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Gwendolen[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f]
I know a 5 yr old [name_u]Echo[/name_u] and a teenage [name_u]Echo[/name_u]. Both wear the name well and have no problems with it, As for middles I personally would choose something more familiar and maybe a little bit longer since [name_u]Echo[/name_u] feels kinda short.
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_u]Echo[/name_u] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
I think Echo’s a very cute name for a girl (it was a girl’s name in Greek mythology) bit it may lead to some bullying in school.
I love [name_u]Echo[/name_u]! It would be perfect. It’s such a spunky name for a girl.
