Ectopic Pregnancy? Appendicitis?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been having some weird symptoms, so I while I wait to see my GP next week, I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences. I’ve had a pain in my right side midway between my hip bone and rib cage, and it’s been steadily getting worse for several days. It comes in waves. I’ve also had dizzy spells and diarrhea (tmi, sorry), but that’s about the extent of my symptoms. I have had other issues in the past, like ovarian cysts and IBS, but this feels completely different to me. It’s unlikely that I’d be pregnant, but not impossible either. A few things that keep coming up are ectopic pregnancy (I had a period 3 weeks ago, so it seems too early anyway if that was it) and appendicitis. However, the pain hasn’t gotten bad enough that I would consider it an emergency.

Has anyone had something similar? [name_m]Just[/name_m] trying to gauge the situation while I wait patiently! [name_f]TIA[/name_f]!

In [name_f]Canada[/name_f] we have Telehealth (trained medical professionals you can call who will advise you by phone). If you have something like that where you are, I would call them.

I’ve had a lot of stomach issues over the years but not anything like what you’re describing. I wish I could be more help. I hope everything is okay.

I had something similar and it turned out to be a gallbladder attack. Does the pain “wrap” around your body at all? Get worse after meals/eating fatty foods? If so…it could be a possibility. If the pain gets to be too bad, a trip to the emergency room could be in order, if that is an option at all. If it is something you feel like you can push through until your appointment, I suggest trying to restrict greasy/fatty foods and see if that helps. I hope you feel better!

When I had appendicitis my pain was in the lower right side of my belly right above my hip, it was probably an 8/10 (I was crying in pain). I also had the classic symptom of the pain getting better with pressure on the area and then getting worse when the pressure was removed. Other classic appendicitis symptoms are nausea/vomitting and fever. Also appendix pain normally starts by youre belly button and moves over to the right lower side
