[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] is such a fascinating name, I really like it. [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u] is a great writer, by the way.
Frankly, I don’t really like the flow of either [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]Cedar[/name_u] or [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]Claude[/name_u].
Some other ideas:
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Cornelius[/name_m]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Eleazar[/name_m]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
Thank you for your reply, I really like [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]Valentine[/name_u] and [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Cornelius[/name_m]… Unfortunately, they are too long and my boyfriend wants to keep them short, like 4-5 letters long.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] I like it as a first name? Well, I’ll admittedly say it never was on any of my lists but it is growing on me, honestly…
I like boy names such as grayson, carys, rhys, vaughn, elliott, cooper, ellison, noah, aiden… (mostly soft sounding, huh?)
does that clear up on my naming style?
my boyfriend is a macho/jock… so most of these names does not appeal to him. I was surprised when he said [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]. He absolutely LOVES [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] Martinez from Seattle Mariners team, lol. That is where the name comes from and then he goes ‘at least you can have the edgar allan poe’ aspect of it.’ lol
he also does not want popular names in the sense of being the only kid in the class with that name.
off your list I really like:
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Nash[/name_m]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Saul[/name_m]
[name_m]Clay[/name_m] [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]
[name_f]Do[/name_f] I like it as a first name? well i’ll say it never made it on any of my lists but it is growing on me, honestly.
i like boy names such as: grayson, elliott, ellison, noah, aiden, rhys, carys, vaughn, cade, henry…
does that clear it up as for my naming style? i don’t know how i’d define it.
my boyfriend is a jock/macho kinda guy… so most of these names I like does not appeal to him. plus he does not want popular names in a sense that the child has to be the only kid in class with the name.
out of your suggestions the ones I like are:
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Nash[/name_m]
[name_m]Clay[/name_m] [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]
I also like [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] but the name [name_u]Owen[/name_u] is a personal conflict for me.

[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] is an intriguing choice. I love it, but it is sort of gloomy. [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] or [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] would brighten it up. [name_m]Albert[/name_m] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] are similar and just as nice. Here are some more names that are the same style and might work for the first or middle spot:
Well, I didn’t realize you wanted a short name. What about
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m]/[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Lev[/name_m]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]Theo[/name_u]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]/[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Milo[/name_m]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]Ash[/name_u]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Gage[/name_m]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Noam[/name_m]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Levi[/name_m]/[name_m]Levi[/name_m] [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]
[name_u]Jesse[/name_u] [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like any of these?
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]Ash[/name_u] is pretty cute too, but I prefer [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Amos[/name_m]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Gage[/name_m]
[name_m]Edgar[/name_m] Legvi
I was just about to make a thread on [name_m]Edgar[/name_m]. My husband is set on this name as well for boy. I actually really love it. But any time I’ve mentioned it to friends/family they absolutely hate it. I think [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]Cedar[/name_u] maybe too repetitive w/ the R ending. My fav [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] combo is [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u].
I had a student named [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] once when I taught kindergarten. He was a cute little Hispanic boy. He had good manners and he loved soccer and he was a good student. A couple of people have commented that [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] seems like a gloomy choice because of [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u], but I just wanted to say that once you know someone else with that name, you don’t even think about that anymore. There was also [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] Degas, the french impressionist artist who did all those paintings of ballerinas, so that’s not such a gloomy association.
I think [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]Cedar[/name_u] is too repetitive, and [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]Claude[/name_u] is too heavy. I don’t really have any other suggestions, combos are hard! I like [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] (but I like [name_u]James[/name_u] with everything) and [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m] that others have suggested.
