claraoswinoswald, suggested [name_f]Edie[/name_f] as a middle name for [name_f]Azure[/name_f] in my other thread (thank you, clara). I immediately fell in love with the combo in reverse, [name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f]. What are your thoughts on [name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f]?
I’ve never considered [name_f]Azure[/name_f], but it is really neat sounding. [name_f]Azure[/name_f]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] sounds extremely peaceful, like a sea that is smooth as glass. I would put it in the middle name for the risk of it being “out there” enough that she may not like it. [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is a GREAT name! I especially love the 2 together.
P.S. I am loving your list in your signature. Half of them are my current favorites!
It’s beautiful! I also like the flow of [name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Azura[/name_f], if that helps.
I love the vintage feel of [name_f]Edie[/name_f] with the bold choice of [name_f]Azure[/name_f]. They have a nice balance and flow together!!
Hate to break the trend, but I don’t love [name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f]. They both feel masculine to me, despite the fact that I know they are girls names. [name_f]Edie[/name_f] probable because of [name_m]Eddy[/name_m]/[name_m]Ed[/name_m]. [name_f]Azure[/name_f] because there is a men’s choir near me called [name_f]Azure[/name_f] Men’s Choir. [name_f]Azure[/name_f] is a shade of dark blue I believe.
[name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f] nn [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is much better [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
[name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f] is a fabulous name! I agree with clairedarling, I really like the way they balance each other out. I think the combination has a bit of a cool, bohemian vibe without seeming try-hard, which I think can be a difficult balance to strike. I like it a lot!
I like the combo [name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f] which surprises me because I don’t usually like “nicknames as first names”. I like the sweet vintage vibe of [name_f]Edie[/name_f] with the smooth and cool sound of [name_f]Azure[/name_f]. I think it works!
Wow. This combo is stunningly beautiful. [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is such a sweet name. It is all braided pigtails, missing teeth, and giggling over picture books. [name_f]Azure[/name_f] is serene and elegant. Together, [name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f] is the perfect balance of sophisticated and down-to-earth. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!
Thank you, all. I am even more in love with this name now.
[name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f] is really gorgeous! I adore [name_f]Edie[/name_f] and it works perfectly with [name_f]Azure[/name_f].
So gorgeous, I love it.
[name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f] is spunky and sweet.
Well I definitely like it ;). [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is one of my favorite names that I’ll never get to use since my fiance dislikes it. He’s in the camp that it looks too much like [name_m]Eddie[/name_m]/[name_m]Eddy[/name_m] but I don’t really think it’s a big deal, the single d makes the pronunciation obvious to me. I also have always really liked the combination of E and A names for first and middles, it’s very appealing to me.
I like it, except for I am not really fond of nicknames as full names. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f], nicknamed [name_f]Edie[/name_f]? Now that is definitely my cup of tea. Sweet, strong, classic and new age, familiar and exotic, all in one fell swoop.
I like the suggestion of another poster to use [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f] would be really lovely. I don’t really like nickname style names for the first spot but that is just my personal preference. I do like [name_f]Azure[/name_f] though!
Thank you, all, for your honest opinions. I personally do not care for [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. I honestly do not know why. While [name_f]Edie[/name_f] to me is beautiful, sweet, vintage, and a splash of fun. The only other name I found that could use [name_f]Edie[/name_f] as a nickname is [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I do like the name [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Azure[/name_f] does not give me the same feel as [name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f]. I really like the feel of [name_f]Edie[/name_f] with some of my other girl favorites; [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Livia[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Lilia[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f] (lil-ah), [name_f]Emme[/name_f], [name_f]Audra[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f], and [name_f]Tess[/name_f]/[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. I have gone back and fourth about my personal thoughts on nickname names (or nickname sounding) used as full names and it occurred to me that I know/have known so many people that have only gone by their nickname.
I’m the same way as you, I think [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is super cute but not a fan of [name_f]Edith[/name_f] (I do like [name_u]Eden[/name_u] as well, though)! Normally I’m not a fan of [name_f]Azure[/name_f], but [name_f]Edie[/name_f] [name_f]Azure[/name_f] does have a bit of spunkiness to it!
