I’ve not heard of the flower. [name_m]How[/name_m] is it pronounced? Based on the spelling I think it would be frequently mistaken for [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f].

I really like how meaningful it is to you, and I like its nicknames (especially spunky [name_f]Ria[/name_f]/[name_f]Rea[/name_f])!
Robeccia [name_f]Mauve[/name_f] would be a really charming combo

I quite like it, and I think the familiarity with [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] makes it feel a little less unusual. I may get confused as [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] often though.

Haha I didn’t know it was a flower… but when I saw the thread title, all I could think was “sounds like some kind of medicinal herb!”

My instinct was to pronounce it ‘ro-bee-sha’ - if that isn’t right, then that may be a warning that it could lead to lots of correcting people on how to say and spell it.

I really appreciate that the name is meaningful to you, however I think it will constantly get mistaken for [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], and a lot of people won’t know how to say it right.

Thank you for your comments, I’m pondering whether or not I would mind telling people how to pronounce and spell it but it’s not much of an issue to me.

Maybe as a mn, to avoid her having to constantly correct people

I agree that it might be better as a middle name! I think it’s pretty, and I love the meaning behind it so I think it’s a great idea to use it. but as said, it’ll most likely get mistaken for [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] so often it could get annoying for you (and her)
if that’s not an issue though, I think it’d make an interesting and sweet choice!

(also, I pronounced it correctly the first time but I wasn’t sure if I was saying it wrong or not)

I’ve never heard of this name before but I actually really like it!

yeah, i woul just go with [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] or [name_f]Roberta[/name_f] or something similar

I like it! Is the correct spelling Rudbeckia though? I think it’s lovely.

My first thought on seeing the name, since I’m completely unfamiliar with the flower, was that someone had misspelled [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]. If you want to use it to honor your grandfather, I’d use it in the middle spot.
