What are you thoughts on [name]Edith[/name] and [name]Isadora[/name] for girls? Not neccessarily together or as sisters. [name]Edith[/name] would probably get [name]Edie[/name] as a nickname as well as her real name, and I’m undecided about any nicknames for [name]Isadora[/name].
Ooh I love [name]Edith[/name]. If we ever have a daughter it’d absolutely be on our short list! I could warm to Isodora but I’d worry abut [name]Dora[/name] as a nickname.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Isadora[/name]. I’ve never cared for the nickname [name]Dora[/name], but I think [name]Issy[/name]/[name]Izzy[/name] would be cute. Not a fan of [name]Edith[/name], it’s just too old lady for me. I do like the nickname [name]Edie[/name] but I prefer the full name [name]Eden[/name].
I love [name]Isadora[/name]. [name]Edith[/name] is just not my style although it may be more in vogue now due to the Dowton [name]Abbey[/name] show.
I love [name]Edith[/name], didn’t until recently though. [name]Edie[/name] is so sweet. [name]Isadora[/name] is elegant, but kind of too much for me. Good luck!
I love them both. [name]Edith[/name] because of [name]Edith[/name] [name]Piaf[/name] and [name]Edith[/name] [name]Wharton[/name] (though I don’t really care for [name]Edie[/name]). [name]Isadora[/name] is just charming and pretty- I would use both of them. For [name]Isadora[/name] I would use the nickname [name]Izzie[/name], [name]Dora[/name], [name]Dorie[/name], or [name]Sadie[/name].
- [name]Athena[/name]
I would love to meet either (or both!) an [name]Edith[/name] or [name]Isadora[/name]. They are exactly my kind of names!
[name]Both[/name] are great names. My favorite would be [name]Isadora[/name].
I don’t love either one, but I do like them a lot. I would probably lean toward [name]Isadora[/name], mainly because it yields the sweet and spunky nn [name]Izzy[/name] and it feels a bit reminiscent of my favorite girls’ name, [name]Isabelle[/name]. [name]Edith[/name] is lovely and some days I do love it, but it’s a bit too old-fashioned in general for me. I do love [name]Edie[/name] as a nn, though!
I love both and think it’s time [name]Edith[/name] made a come back! I love the nn [name]Edie[/name] too.
[name]Edith[/name] is definitely back, and [name]Isadora[/name] is wonderful! [name]Love[/name] them both.
I like [name]Edith[/name] better, not sure why though. Lol ;).
When I first saw [name]Edith[/name] I thought, please no. I just finished writing a response about “wow” names, and [name]Edith[/name] would get a negative “wow”. It’s so plain, harsh sounding, old lady-ish and leaves less than to be desired; not pretty at all. [name]Isadora[/name] on the other hand is the complete opposite. It’s so strange to have such different names in contention. [name]Isadora[/name] is beautiful, antiquated without being “old” sounding, classy and very elegant, everything that [name]Edith[/name] is not. That’s just my very honest opinion.
I adore both of these names. If [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Dorothea[/name], [name]Theodora[/name] can come back and feel fresh, why not [name]Isadora[/name]? Perhaps [name]Edith[/name] and nickname [name]Edie[/name] will have a revival with those searching for fresh alternatives to [name]Adele[/name], [name]Adeline[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name], [name]Eden[/name], etc.
love them together.
i think it’s [name]Issy[/name]…
I really like them both although wouldn’t use either but i don’t like the nickname [name]Issy[/name]/[name]Izzy[/name]. Wilth the amount of [name]Isabell[/name]/[name]Isabella[/name]'s in UK, [name]Issy[/name] is a nn i hear constantly.
Oh man, I love [name]Edith[/name] and [name]Isadora[/name]. Gorgeous. I especially like the nicknames [name]Edie[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name]!
Not crazy about [name]Edith[/name], but I love [name]Isadora[/name]. Is [name]Sadie[/name] too much of a stretch for a nickname?
Oh! [name]Edith[/name] and [name]Isadora[/name] would make darling sisters! A nickname that could work for [name]Isadora[/name] that has not been mentioned is [name]Dottie[/name].
