This is what came of me messing around with unusual floral names and a first name that I find inherently unattractive: [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Freesia[/name_f].
It’s growing on me, though- something about this combination struck me as so unconventionally daring, so old-fashioned and beautifully strange, that it has crossed over and become a name that actually works. I don’t like [name_f]Edith[/name_f] in general, but her old-fashioned gentleness with the striking, floral [name_f]Freesia[/name_f] appeals to me.
Gosh, [name_f]Freesia[/name_f] is a fantastic middle name! I just love the [name_f]Freesia[/name_f] flower so much (best smell ever) that it immediately has beautiful connotations for me.
I am unsure about [name_f]Edith[/name_f]…as middle names are so rarely used, I’m not sure I’d be keen to saddle a child with [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. It’s a bit too much in the vein of [name_f]Gladys[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] and [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] - names that are clunky without being charming or pretty (just my opinion).
