WDYT of [name_f]Edith[/name_f]? ![]()
I really donāt care for it. I know the āold ladyā names are making somewhat of a comeback, but [name_f]Edith[/name_f] still sounds very clunky to me. [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is an OK nickname.
I think itās a nice name. Borders on stuffy for me, but the spunky vintage nickname [name_f]Edie[/name_f] makes it more accessible.
I immediately think of [name_f]Edith[/name_f] Crawley from Dowton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u]. Other than that I think it is a little bit dated of a name.
I utterly adore it- my sisterās name is [name_u]Eden[/name_u], and I sometimes call her [name_f]Edith[/name_f] as a nickname, as her name honours my great grandmother, [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Flora[/name_f]. I donāt think it is stuffy or dated at all- I see it as wispy but strong, with a spunky and charming sound. If [name_u]Eden[/name_u] wasnāt my sisterās name, it would certainly be one of my top contenders. I think it is very dignified- something I highly value in a name.
I love the nn [name_f]Edie[/name_f]. Itās one of my favorites.
[name_f]Edith[/name_f] is uncommon but familiar enough that she could stand out from the crowd AND people would say her name right.
I think it has a certain charm, itās pretty but with a certain dignity. I biased towards old people names, of course, but I say go for it! I like it.
Right down there w/[name_f]Ardith[/name_f], [name_f]Ethel[/name_f], [name_f]Gertrude[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], and [name_f]Beulah[/name_f], for me.
Not a fanā¦sorry! [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is my [name_f]MIL[/name_f]'s name so itās hard to picture on a little girl. [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is a cute nickname though.
Thereās nothing wrong with it. I prefer [name_f]Enid[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f]! Iām not entirely sure why, I just love vintage names, and names containing āthā. Plus [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is adorable!
I adore [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. It will be very popular in a few years I think.
I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f] - and the NN [name_f]Edie[/name_f] but I donāt think it needs a NN, really.
I like [name_f]Edie[/name_f] but I prefer [name_f]Enid[/name_f]/Everild/[name_f]Emerald[/name_f] as far as clunky or quirky E names.
I normally like -th names. So Iām not sure why I donāt like [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] is far more charming to me.
