Edward - help!

I’m in need of some advice please berries!

I adore the name [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and I’d go as far as saying it’s my favourite boys name, I’d absolutely love it to be on our list (OH and I) but OH isn’t so sure - he’s open to the idea just not convinced.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] any berries have any words about [name_m]Edward[/name_m] that might convince my hubby? Or has anyone else been in the same position with another name? Thank you

[name_m]Edward[/name_m] is my favorite name , I absolutely adore it . I think its classic with a romantic feel & literature assassinations ( think [name_m]Edward[/name_m] [name_m]Rochester[/name_m] ) . Plus it has very lovely nn such as [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] , [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] , [name_m]Ed[/name_m] , Dare etc .

Good luck

I would definitely mention its classic appeal.

Pros for [name_m]Edward[/name_m]:
(1) A true classic - an [name_m]Edward[/name_m] could have been born 150 years ago, in the 1950s, or today. A name like that is never “dated” like, say, [name_u]Cody[/name_u] for the 80s-90s or [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] for the 2000s. An [name_m]Edward[/name_m], on paper, is ageless until you meet him.

(2) Nicknames! As listed above, [name_m]Edward[/name_m] has a ton of nickname options (I love [name_m]Ned[/name_m]!). Great if he decides the one you chose doesn’t suit him, or if you want to wait and see what nickname feels right, or if his friends in school or work decide that one of them would be fun to use.

(3) Easy to spell and pronounce. Sounds minor, but it’s nice to go to Starbucks and have them be able to write the correct thing on your cup, or to get called by the receptionist at the doctor and not have them stumble over your name.

(4) While it’s never been out of style, it’s not super popular or trendy, so it’s still a name that stands out - compared to, say, [name_u]Logan[/name_u] or [name_m]Liam[/name_m] or [name_u]Owen[/name_u] or [name_u]Jayden[/name_u], which sometimes feel more creative to adults, but are actually super common in this younger generation.

(5) Namesakes: [name_m]Ed[/name_m] [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u], [name_m]Edward[/name_m] Asner, [name_m]Edward[/name_m] [name_m]Norton[/name_m], umm… some kings… probably a lot of people, right?

I love [name_m]Edward[/name_m]! [name_m]Just[/name_m] repeating here, but it is a wonderful classic that isn’t overly used right now. I think the better question, is what negative things could you find? I can’t think of any.
