Eek! Twins!

We just found out we are headed for twins! We had a boy’s name and a girl’s name all ready to go but now coming up with new ones is so hard.

If we have twin girls…the girl’s name we have picked out is [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u]. I came across the name [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and am really liking it.

[name_f]My[/name_f] question is…are [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] too close-sounding (as in, tongue twisters)? I don’t want them to think that I just riffed off each other for their names but I do like them both.

The other option we are throwing around for the second girl’s name is [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].

[name_m]Just[/name_m] hoping for some opinions!

I like [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] together!

Ainsley and Elsa are way too close in sound and style-wise don’t go together either.
Elsa and Ruth would be very cute together.
Ainsley and Ruth are, again, two different worlds. Ainsley being over the top trendy, Ruth being, like Elsa, quite vintage.

I think [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] match but in a good way… I like it! I also like [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Adalia[/name_f]

[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] seems so stylistically different from [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], I’m having a hard time imagining them together… [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] is modern and unisex, while [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] are vintage and feminine. [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] would be a great pairing, but I don’t think either of these names compliment [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] very well. Some suggestions for [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u]… [name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f], [name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_u]Peyton[/name_u], [name_f]Greer[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f]. But to your original question, I don’t think [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] sound too similar, and congrats on your twins

I agree with others that say you should consider a similar style for a name pair.

[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Maxine[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]

[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u]

I would go with [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]. I really don’t mean to be crude, but when I see or hear [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u], I always immediately think anus.

[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] & [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] are cute together, as is [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] & [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], though [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] & [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] clash a bit.

I would go with [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]. [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] lacks substance to me.

I think [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] is very different from [name_f]Elsa[/name_f].

[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] would be great together though!

I like all of Huia’s suggestions especially [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] and [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_u]Blair[/name_u].

Other posters are giving good advice. [name_f]My[/name_f] only 2 cents to throw on here is to really think before using [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] the year that the Frozen movie has come out, if you are at all concerned about names that get overly popular. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], but have thrown it on the bone pile this time, for that reason.
Congrats on the twins!! Have always wanted a pair, but no such luck!

I think personally they sound too close. (But also different styles which can be ok). I always find it frustrating if I think twins names sound too similar.

I think the sounds of [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] are too close :frowning: [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] don’t go well together at all, such different styles! [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] would be cute together, though

I don’t really think any of them go together that well…

Wow I had no idea there would be so many replies! Thanks for indoctrinating this newbie

It appears that the overarching favorite combo is [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] out of the three names. Thanks everyone for all the suggestions - I love it!

[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] would be my pick. I don’t really care for [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] but that doesn’t really matter. I personally wouldn’t match [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] with [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] or [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] because the seem to be of very different styles.
If you have your heart set on [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] I would try to find a better match for her. Like [name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_u]Blaire[/name_u], [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_u]Arden[/name_u], [name_u]Leighton[/name_u], [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], [name_u]Haven[/name_u], [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_f]Skyla[/name_f], [name_u]Teagan[/name_u], [name_u]Ellison[/name_u], or [name_u]Emerson[/name_u].

A vote for [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]!

[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] are a bit too close [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. Out of your options I prefer [name_f]Elsa[/name_f]

[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] & [name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] & [name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] & [name_u]Alva[/name_u]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] & [name_f]Freja[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] & [name_f]Inga[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] & [name_f]Flora[/name_f]

Good luck with the twins!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] together. [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] don’t work well together in my opinion. [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] sounds very modern/trendy to my ear but [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] could be a cute pairing tied through common Scottish origin and you could use [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] as a nn.
