I prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f], just because it looks the cleanest and simplest. I feel like the other versions would get misspelled more than necessary.

I prefer the original [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. It just looks simple and pure which I like. My second choice is [name_f]Lillie[/name_f], because I generally prefer -ie endings over -y, but it loses the connection to the flower.

I like the [name_f]Lily[/name_f] spelling because of the flower, but our beloved cat who passed away last [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] was [name_f]Lilly[/name_f], so I have a soft spot for that spelling too! I find other spellings too cutesy (example - I have a cousin called [name_f]Lilli[/name_f]-[name_f]Mae[/name_f], ugh!) x

I spell it “[name_f]Lilly[/name_f]” because it’s the flower spelling.

I spell it [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Amaryllis[/name_f] because it seems to resemble the name the best, but as a standalone name I favor just [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. Not a fan of [name_f]Lillie[/name_f], personally, and I don’t feel any other variations could compare to the original.

I like [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] the best because if you don’t spell it with a double “L” it looks like it’s missing a letter.

I like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] because it’s a word name so ([name_f]IMO[/name_f]) should be spelled the same way as the word.
Other options that I can think of include: [name_f]Lilly[/name_f], [name_f]Lillie[/name_f], [name_f]Lilie[/name_f], [name_f]Lili[/name_f]. I sort of like [name_f]Lilly[/name_f], but it does feel too L heavy - even though it’s pronounced the same as [name_f]Lily[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f] because it’s the simplest.

As a formal name, I like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] best, since it’s a flower name and that’s how the name of the flower is spelled. As a nickname for [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], though, I would probably go with one of the double “l” spellings, although [name_f]Lily[/name_f] would also be fine.

If you’re just using [name_f]Lily[/name_f], I prefer the traditional ‘[name_f]Lily[/name_f]’ spelling. However as a nickname for [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] I prefer [name_f]Lillie[/name_f]

I too prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f], just because I think it’s simplest to spell word names to match the word’s spelling.

[name_f]Lily[/name_f], because that how the flower is spelt. Though I know a [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] who goes by [name_f]Lilly[/name_f]. But as others have said, if it’s just plain [name_f]Lily[/name_f], spell it [name_f]Lily[/name_f].

I spell it [name_f]Lily[/name_f], but it really only works on infants and very, very old ladies (IMHO). It just comes across to me as ‘weak and helpless’. But pretty.

This. I’ve seen enough variations on [name_f]Lily[/name_f]'s spelling that [name_f]Lilly[/name_f] doesn’t look weird to me, but most of the time, word names with spelling variations look misspelled to me ([name_u]Saige[/name_u], for example).

[name_f]Lily[/name_f], because that’s how the flower is spelled. I also find it daintier-looking. I think [name_f]Lily[/name_f]'s adorable!

I spell it [name_f]Lily[/name_f]. It’s the simplest and how the flower is spelt. I also second @ashthedreamer in saying [name_f]Lily[/name_f] looks daintier than other spellings.

[name_f]Lilly[/name_f], just because it’s more visually attractive to me, lol.

For a formal name, [name_f]Lily[/name_f], because that’s how it’s spelled and I don’t care for creative spellings. If it’s a nickname, then anything goes and it’s more based on what formal name is.
