Efram or Ezra?

Which do you prefer? Any suggestions for mn?

From those two I prefer [name_m]Ezra[/name_m].

I prefer [name_m]Ezra[/name_m].

I’ve always had a soft spot for [name_m]Efram[/name_m], but I prefer the [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] spelling. Looking at your signature, I do like [name_m]Efram[/name_m] [name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m]. As for other suggestions, I think you’d have to go with something equally distinguished, like:

[name_m]Efram[/name_m] [name_m]Barnabas[/name_m] ([name_m]Efram[/name_m] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] for something lighter-sounding?)
[name_m]Efram[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]
[name_m]Efram[/name_m] [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] (some people studiously avoid the same last letter/first letter of middle name, but I think it works sometimes)
[name_m]Efram[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Efram[/name_m] [name_m]Jonas[/name_m]
[name_m]Efram[/name_m] [name_m]Jeremiah[/name_m]
[name_m]Efram[/name_m] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_m]Efram[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]

[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]! [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] isn’t bad w/this spelling, though.

I like [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]/[name_m]Esra[/name_m].

What other types of names do you like?

I prefer [name_m]Ezra[/name_m].

[name_m]Ezra[/name_m] by far.

I love both. I have a slight personal preference for [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] (probably thanks to growing up with Better than [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]), but I really want to see more people use [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]/[name_m]Efram[/name_m]!

Looks like [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] is the winner. I like [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] also but was worried the spelling would throw people off.

For boys I like biblical names (not for religious reasons; they sound ancient & grounded to me). I like vintage names, esp. Victorian. I like some nature names ([name_u]River[/name_u]) but not others ([name_u]Ocean[/name_u]). Someone suggested [name_m]Barnabas[/name_m] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] - I like those names.

I like [name_m]Efram[/name_m] spelled [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] better. I have heard [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] used on both males and females. I think [name_m]Efram[/name_m] sounds more masculine if that is what your going for.

For boys: [name_m]Efram[/name_m] over [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]!
