I automatically spell it [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. I don’t know why. I"m not in the UK though.

From the US, but I would spell [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] with two L’s and two T’s. I think it also makes it easier for telling someone how to spell the name. You could say “[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] Lastname spelled with two L’s and two T’s.”

I like the [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] and the [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] spelling.

I like [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. In the UK they rank at 69 and 80 respectively.
Neither [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] or [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] ranks in the top 500

In the UK, I’d assume [name_u]Elliot[/name_u].

My favourite is the literary [name_u]Eliot[/name_u], however.

I would automatically spell it [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] as it is the more common spelling (except perhaps in the US where [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] is a little more common, over time). Also, [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is the spelling I prefer as it seems tidier to me, and the double, double-letters feel a little unnecessary to me. I’m in Australia.

I have [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] on my list as a middle name. The only spelling that I am drawn to is [name_u]Elliot[/name_u].

I’m in the UK and my favourite and assumed spelling is [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]. I’ve known two boys named [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and both have spelled it with two Ls and one T.
I also know one (American, female) [name_u]Eliot[/name_u], so I associate the literary spelling with it being feminine.

I like [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] best but I also have a soft spot for [name_u]Eliot[/name_u]. Something about both [name_u]Eliott[/name_u] and [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] look off to me.

[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] for me. My first reference as being from a non english speaking country is [name_u]Billy[/name_u] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]. But I don’t mind [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] and [name_u]Eliott[/name_u] look weird to me.

[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] or [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. I’m from the US.

Thanks for all the replies. I find it interesting how when I first posted, [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] was first with [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] in close second, and now [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] has taken a clear lead throughout the day. Clearly some variations across the globe playing into effect there!

I’m from the UK and I think [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is both the most common and the best-looking option. I think the 2nd most common option here is [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], which is also great.

2 Ls and 1T is the only variation I’ve ever seen in person, and it’s the way I personally like the best.
