[name]Helena[/name] got my vote, because I prefer the nicknames, especially good old [name]Nell[/name].
[name]Charlotte[/name] got my vote, because despite its popularity it’s a real, true, classic, timeless choice. It’ll be beautiful no matter what era it’s in. [name]Helena[/name] is nms, and I’m always unsure how the particular wearer pronounces it.
I agree with maggiemary.
I like [name]Helena[/name]. And I just can’t get past a name that contains the word ‘harlot’.
I adore [name]Charlotte[/name] but [name]Helena[/name] is underappreciated, so I chose [name]Helena[/name]!
[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Helena[/name]! So beautiful. I also love the song Two Step by [name]Dave[/name] [name]Matthews[/name] and although the lyrics have been changed to “Hey, my love,” the orginal lyrics were, “Hey, [name]Helena[/name]” (possibly a reference to St [name]Helena[/name]).
I absolutely agree, [name]Charlotte[/name] all the way.
I picked [name]Helena[/name] because it’s more girly and more unusual. I love both though; they’re beautiful and sophisticated and have stood the test of time. [name]Helena[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Helena[/name] would both be lovely combos.
My vote goes to [name]Helena[/name]! I think it’s so soft and feminine but has such a wonderful history and meaning to it that it really has a backbone.
[name]Charlotte[/name] is nice, you can’t really go wrong with it - but I am seriously sick to death of seeing it. Not just on here, but in real life and I really do not care for the sound at all.
While I love both [name]Helena[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name], I just can’t vote against [name]Charlotte[/name]! I just adore it. It’s so soft and feminine and classic and classy. I adore [name]Helena[/name], but I just can’t seem to pick it over the original [name]Eleni[/name], so I think I’d pick both [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Eleni[/name] over [name]Helena[/name], personally. Although both are so beautiful. I think [name]Helena[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] or [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Helena[/name] would be a lovely combo.
I must be the only berry who lives somewhere without Charlottes, haha. I know many [name]Helena[/name], [name]Elena[/name], and [name]Helen[/name] variations and not a single [name]Charlotte[/name]! I picked [name]Charlotte[/name] because I like the nn potentials for a tomboy ([name]Charlie[/name]) and a girly girl ([name]Lottie[/name]), because you never know what you’ll end up with… Also, [name]Charlotte[/name]‘s [name]Web[/name] is one of my favourite kids’ books. Needless to say, it’s on my list.
[name]Elena[/name] has always been a favourite of mine, and [name]Helena[/name] is very similar. But as I said, I know too many (granted they are all 25-90, I don’t know many kids since my first babies are due in [name]June[/name])
Definitely [name]Helena[/name]! [name]Charlotte[/name] feels absolutely ubiquitous these days and the sound is nowhere near as nice. Plus, [name]Helena[/name] has multiple Shakespearean namesakes.
I vote [name]Charlotte[/name], I really like it and it is timeless. Also i have never really liked [name]Helena[/name]. I like [name]Elena[/name] fine, just not [name]Helena[/name].
While I adore both names, I chose [name]Charlotte[/name] because I adore the nickname [name]Lottie[/name].
I picked [name]Helena[/name] because it’s less common. I also really like [name]Charlotte[/name] though. [name]Helena[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] would be a lovely name.
[name]Helena[/name]. [name]Charlotte[/name] rhymes with harlot, while [name]Helena[/name] has that great associate with [name]Helen[/name] of [name]Troy[/name].
[name]Charlotte[/name]!! Timeless, elegant, classic, perfect. I know this is supposed to be super popular, but I have never actually met one. I know of one (but never met her – friend of a friend’s kid), but that’s it, and she’s not even in my state. I can’t believe all the comments about [name]Charlotte[/name] rhyming with or containing “harlot”. That cracks me up. Seriously?! Still chuckling over that.
[name]Helena[/name] is also a beautiful name and also timeless in a more historical way than [name]Charlotte[/name] … if that makes sense. But as another pp mentioned, I am never sure how the bearer pronounces it, so it always makes me a little uncomfortable. Still a gorgeous name though.
I love both but ultimately [name]Charlotte[/name] has my heart
[name]Helena[/name] because it’s not as common as [name]Charlotte[/name].
