There is no reason why you couldn’t use more then one [name_f]EL[/name_f] name. Having three or more could sound and look off to some, two would not bother the general public. I can easily see an [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or a sister/brother set of [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] for example. My favorite is [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] then [name_f]Elise[/name_f].
My favourite for you is [name_f]Elise[/name_f] (Ay-Leez) because the [name_m]French[/name_m] pronounciation is more intuitive for most people, and it has a lovely elegant sound. I think [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliana[/name_f] may have pronunciation problems in English speaking areas. They are all beautiful names though!
I like all three! I think Éloïse is my favorite, followed by Éliane. I used to love [name_f]Elise[/name_f]/Élise, but it is losing I lustre for me. I like Émilie and [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] a wee bit more. I do like [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f] a lot from your longer list, and would have loved to see [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliora[/name_f]/[name_f]Elora[/name_f], too, even though they’re not [name_m]French[/name_m].
Good luck!
Thank you for your input, everyone! (:
I like [name_f]Elise[/name_f] a lot.
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].
I also really like [name_f]Eliana[/name_f], but [name_f]Eliane[/name_f] seems odd to my ears. I also couldn’t help but hear “alien” in your pronunciation of [name_f]Eliane[/name_f].
I’ve always been a fan of [name_f]Elise[/name_f] although I hate how people assume it’s a nn for [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]/[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
