I have found out that there is a possibility we could be adding a pair of rats (one male, one female) to our family. These rats will belong to me, so I get to choose names for them. The weird thing about names and me is that I love giving full, formal names to everything, and these rats will be no exception ::D. The rats will probably end up having a lot of names, because I will give them two middles (not necessary, I know, but it’ll be heaps of fun) and add another two that have been passed down through my family (we do this for every new addition, human or not).
So some of the names I was thinking of was:
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] “Henrie” Citrine [name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_m]Miller[/name_m] Creagh
and
[name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] “[name_m]Caius[/name_m]” [name_m]Jens[/name_m] [name_m]Roman[/name_m] [name_m]Miller[/name_m] Creagh
They’re extremely elaborate for rats, but I name everything this way.
Thanks!
Hmmm… This will be hard. Maybe you could stick a title in front of a name once it’s finished to make it that much more distinguished (i.e. “Sir” or “Lady”) But let’s see:
Sir—:
[name_m]Inglebert[/name_m]
[name_m]Thackeray[/name_m]
[name_m]Sylvester[/name_m]
[name_m]Garrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m]
[name_u]Wendell[/name_u]
[name_m]Justinian[/name_m]
[name_m]Aurelius[/name_m]
[name_m]Xerxes[/name_m]
[name_m]Humphrey[/name_m]
Lady—:
[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]
[name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
[name_f]Hildegarde[/name_f]
[name_f]Perpetua[/name_f]
[name_f]Philomena[/name_f]
[name_f]Pacifica[/name_f]
[name_f]Aureliana[/name_f]
I love elaborate names : )
I used to own many animals, including rats. My male rat was named [name_u]Bailey[/name_u]-[name_m]Buddy[/name_m] -aka [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] or Sir [name_u]Bailey[/name_u]. My two females who were sisters were [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_u]Jordan[/name_u] and [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Cypress[/name_f]. (cypress was bossy hehe)
Rats are so misunderstood and under-appreciated.
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f]/Henrie for a girl rat is so cute! (when I was a child two imaginary mice friends, one lived in each of my ears, the girl was named [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f])
I prefer [name_m]Roman[/name_m], as it is one of my favorite names for a boy. What about [name_m]Roman[/name_m] for his first name, but if you use [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] as his first, just [name_u]Kai[/name_u] as his nickname. [name_u]Kai[/name_u] is such an attractive yet simple name. If you like the name [name_u]Kai[/name_u], you could name him Malachite for his first name.
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] is not my taste really. If I had to name her myself while keeping to your taste, maybe I’d choose :
Malachite (kai) [name_m]Jens[/name_m] [name_m]Roman[/name_m] [name_m]Miller[/name_m] & [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] (juni) [name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_m]Miller[/name_m]. Good luck.
Aw how cute! I thought my pet mice had elaborate names as [name_f]Noella[/name_f], [name_f]Hollie[/name_f] and Eirah lol, I guess not…I loove the name [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] and I think it is a good idea as suggested above to give him the nickname ‘[name_u]Kai[/name_u]’, and [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] is adorable! Not gonna suggest any other names but just thought I should say what a good idea those names are if you havn’t already named them.
Chrisco’s suggestions are perfect. Perhaps Sir [name_m]Thackeray[/name_m] [name_m]Caius[/name_m] [name_m]Miller[/name_m] Creagh and Lady [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] Citrine [name_m]Miller[/name_m] Creagh?
I love the idea of adding a title in front!
Sir, Lady, [name_f]Queen[/name_f], [name_m]King[/name_m], [name_m]Prince[/name_m], [name_f]Princess[/name_f], [name_m]Duke[/name_m], Duchess, Madame, Monsieur, Signor, Signorita (don’t know how to spell that)… those are all I can think of for now!
