Elaina Combos

I’m stuck between 3 names that I love for a girl. I want to name a future daughter [name]Elaina[/name] after my Mom, but have a few middle names that I’m trying to narrow down.

[name]Elaina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] - I’ve loved this one for ages. Simple, classic, elegant.
[name]Elaina[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] - This one I like because my husband’s name is [name]Joseph[/name]. However, he doesn’t care for it.
[name]Elaina[/name] [name]Verity[/name] - This one has appealed to me lately because it has a bit more spunk than the others.

My other children’s names are [name]Josiah[/name] [name]Michael[/name] & [name]Daphne[/name] Coppelia.

Which do you like best? Suggestions always welcome. Thanks!

I like [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Verity[/name] the best, followed by [name]Josephine[/name].

I’ve been a fan of [name]Elena[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] for a couple of years now, so [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] get my immediate vote!

I’m thinking it will be [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] or [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Verity[/name]. [name]Josephine[/name] I like, but DH does not, and I don’t know that I love it as well as the other two.

I like [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Verity[/name].

I love [name]Daphne[/name] Coppelia. Where did you find her middle name OP?

My husband’s mom’s name is Coppelia. Coppélia is a French ballet from the 19th century.

You could do [name]Elaina[/name]-[name]Jo[/name] [name]Verity[/name]? I think that’s pretty cute.

I love [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name], but would [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Verity[/name] pair better with [name]Daphne[/name] Coppelia? I feel like Coppelia and [name]Verity[/name] go together a bit more. Not that it HAS to be matchy with my daughter’s name, but I’m seriously torn between [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Verity[/name].

I love [name]Verity[/name] but I like the longer look of [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] better (both [name]Elaina[/name] and [name]Verity[/name] have six letters each so it’s not as pleasing to the eye as a longer mn). Does that make sense?

Yes, that absolutely makes sense. And I agree, the look of [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] is much nicer.

All three options are nice, but I like the elegance of [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] most of all, followed by [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Josephine[/name].

[name]Elaina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] is lovely but 100% reminds me of the tv show ‘The Vampire Diaries’. The main character’s name is [name]Elena[/name] and [name]Katherine[/name] is her “doppleganger” (essentially two people who look identical, played by the same acress). This might not bother you at all, but I just wanted to give you a heads up in case you didn’t know. You might get a few people who assume you are a major fan. [name]Elena[/name] and [name]Kate[/name] both used to be on my list until the show came out and even though I do watch it, I still felt it might be overkill, haha.

The other issue I wanted to point out is whether or not you’d like the fact that both girls would have middle names that start with C, which could possibly leave [name]Josiah[/name] feeling left out later in life.

Honestly, both of those choices are beautiful. But to me, [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Verity[/name] seems like a better match for the spunkiness your first daughter’s name. Good luck! =]

I love [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Verity[/name]!

I’ve never seen Vampire Diaries, but I’ve heard others mention the [name]Elena[/name]/[name]Katherine[/name] connection. It’s definitely something to keep in mind, but I don’t think it would bother me all that much. The spellings are different on both names, and though Vampire Diaries seems to be popular now, I doubt that it will still be in a couple of years, which is when we’d ideally like to try for another. But thank you for bringing that up, I’d almost forgotten about that.

This was my issue as well, but [name]Katherine[/name] isn’t even on the show anymore, and like you said the spellings are different. I think you’re totally fine.

Definitely [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]! Gorgeous.

I love [name]Elaina[/name] [name]Verity[/name], especially with sister [name]Daphne[/name] (love it) Coppelia (the first ballet i ever saw in a theatre  )
