Eleanor and Eliza-too similar?

[name]Hi[/name]. [name]Baby[/name] 3 due soon and still can’t think of a girl’s name. Have considered nearly every name in world it seems and dismissed them all. However [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] [name]May[/name] but am really aware it is similar to [name]Eleanor[/name] our eldest’s name. What do you think??

Hmmmmm. For me, they would be too similar. But, that comes from a long life of listening to my mom call the wrong child because of name similarity. Honestly, they sound cute together. I think it really depends on the other child’s name and whether you mind that 2 of the names are very “matchy.” Oh, and if you call [name]Eleanor[/name] “[name]Ellie[/name]” on a regular basis, you will have to decide what nn [name]Eliza[/name] will get.

You didn’t ask for them, so feel free to ignore these suggestions!!!

[name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Zinnia[/name]
[name]Zola[/name]

I do have a friend with two daughters with those names. There is a similarity in sound but not in feel, plus they’re both great names. If you were deciding between [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Cordelia[/name], I’d say go with [name]Cordelia[/name], but if [name]Eliza[/name] is by far your favorite, I would not see them as prohibitively similar.

For me they are too similar, and I think I’d constantly be getting them muddled! But if you absolutely love [name]Eliza[/name], you should go with it.

Are there any other names you love?

I think they are lovely names but for my taste too similar, could you reverse the order

[name]May[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Eleanor[/name]

[name]How[/name] about [name]Alyssa[/name],[name]Esme[/name],or [name]Helena[/name]?
