So I really love both [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], and now I don’t know how I would ever chose between the two. [name_f]My[/name_f] question is… are they too close to use both? I feel like they probably are… but I really love them both so much. I would use pretty different nicknames, as my favorite nicknames for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] are [name_f]Nell[/name_f] or [name_f]Nora[/name_f], and I love [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].
What do you think? Are they just too similar even with different nicknames? And if so, which one do you prefer?
I think they’re too close for sisters but I do love them.
For me they would be too close. However I know family of 8 kids who all have names that start with ‘el’. So it’s not too weird, especially if you used different nicknames for them like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] & [name_f]Lola[/name_f]
Ooh, this is tricky. They’re definitely closer than I’d personally go for sibling names, but it really depends on your preference. I do think using different nicknames helps at least a little (maybe a lot if you’re planning to call them mostly by nicknames). [name_f]My[/name_f] personal favorite of the two is [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (and I adore [name_f]Nell[/name_f]!). How do you feel about [name_u]Louise[/name_u] or [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]? I think either would be perfect as a sister for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and you could definitely still use [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nn!
Personally I think it would be fine if they were sisters. They are a bit close but I think the nicknames help a lot. I love both of those name though! Especially [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
I think you can get away with using both if you use nicknames ([name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_u]Lou[/name_u])
Some people will eventually shorten [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]/Eloise to [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] so that might be confusing for them. But if you’d always use different nicknames, I suppose it’s fine.
I think they sound different enough. If it doesn’t bother you much, I say go for it! I know sisters named M0net & [name_f]Manet[/name_f], and that’s what i’d call a bit too close.
However, I think you’re good with [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] & [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]. Especially with different sounding nicknames. It’s all up to personal taste in this case!
Definitely too close for sisters, imo Great names, though!
I feel like they’re pretty similar for siblings. They work, and the nicknames would help. [name_f]Nell[/name_f] and [name_f]Lola[/name_f] would work very well, and at that point idt the full names would matter too much
They are a bit too close for me but i think with different nicknames they could work
A bit close without nicknames but with nicknames they should work
I think they’re different enough to use for sisters! I like the ‘[name_f]El[/name_f]’ name connection. And the different nicknames! I’d go for [name_f]Nell[/name_f] and [name_u]Lou[/name_u].
They are definitely too close for sisters, imo, even with the nicknames. But…would you consider using the nicknames on their own? [name_f]Nell[/name_f] & [name_f]Lola[/name_f] make perfect and distinct sister names and don’t feel too nickname-y to stand alone. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a thought.
I think they are a bit too close. However, I think the nicknames [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Lola[/name_f] could work just fine!
Hi there.
I do think that they’re too similar for siblings. What do you think of [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f]? [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] & [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] would be stunning! I personally slightly prefer the sound of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] to [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]. But I do really like [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]! And if I were having a daughter this second, I would choose [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] because it’s way less popular.
Hope this helps.
