I prefer the [name]Elinor[/name] spelling because it’s the spelling used in Sense and Sensibility and I love all things [name]Austen[/name]. There’s something sweet but spunky about that spelling.

I like [name]Eleanor[/name] because it doesn’t look like [name]Eli[/name] which is masculine to me.

I picked [name]Eleanor[/name], but I like both.

  • [name]Athena[/name]

[name]Elinor[/name] for me.

[name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name] actually uses both spellings of [name]Eleanor[/name] in separate novels
I prefer the [name]Eleanor[/name] spelling, I think it looks more feminine. When I see [name]Elinor[/name], I think [name]Eli[/name]+nor…

[name]Elinor[/name] opens up a lifetime of people misspelling her name.

I have a soft spot for [name]Elinor[/name], mostly due to a character in [name]Ralph[/name] Bakshi’s Wizards, but also because I like the whimsical feeling it has to it.

[name]Eleanor[/name] is most common and widely recognised spelling so I’d go with that one. No one will assume a different spelling with the name [name]Eleanor[/name] and I think it will cause complications.

I prefer [name]Eleanor[/name].
I’ve been thinking about this for a little while and I tried looking up standard prn and honestly I’m not sure but I think I prn them differently. Not vastly different, and probably not noticeably different but still. It might just be me and at this level it’s probably semantics but… [name]Elinor[/name] = [name]El[/name]-eh-nor and [name]Eleanor[/name] = [name]El[/name]-ah-nor.

I’ve always preferred [name]Elinor[/name].

[name]Eleanor[/name]. Since it’s a classic name, people will assume it’s spelled the original way. Plus, I think [name]Elinor[/name] looks a little trendy.

[name]Eleanor[/name]! [name]Elinor[/name] just looks odd and misspelled/trendy to me.

This exactly! I also think [name]Eleanor[/name] just looks prettier when written.

I’d probably go with the [name]Eleanor[/name] spelling because people are less likely to misspell it. I do like the looks of [name]Elinor[/name] though.
