Thank you! Yes
I slightly prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] because it is a little less expected, but I love both names. I also love [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Nell[/name_f] as nicknames for [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] as a nn for [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. I don’t think you can go wrong!
Agreed. [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] rules!
I agree with zibby and erin beth.
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is unexpected but familiar, and more spunky than [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], while classic.
I like the traditional [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. Very classy. [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is pretty too, but it sounds more like a name that gets by more on its pleasing sound to the modern ear than the actual substance and history of the name.
This was actually our top 2 going into the hospital with our daughter in 2016. The nurse went “We just had an [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] born yesterday” and it just cemented my decision for [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]!
Unknown to me my husband had long ago decided on [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] but didn’t want to influence my decision between the two
I’ve been very happy with the choice; we haven’t met another [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] yet and always get compliments when people learn her name.
Definitely [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] for me! I like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] for its history and nickname potential but the look and sound of the full name aren’t that appealing to me… I think [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is beautiful in full as well as offering a lot of lovely nicknames. It’s rising a lot in popularity now but I don’t think it’ll ever be in the top 10, which is where [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] seems to be heading for.
I prefer the traditional [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] to [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. I think its depends on what vibe your going for, [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] seems a bit more adventurous and unusual, while [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] seems more prim and proper.
I think [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] gets my vote.
I like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] the best
Wow- I didn’t realize how popular [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] has become!
I love the suggestion of [name_f]Lola[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_u]Eloise[/name_u].
I still love both names equally - loved seeing your thoughts- I think what it would come down to is matching up middle honor family names.
I did this with my first two kids…
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is my favorite here! However I adore both!!
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] would be the best fit with a sibling named [name_m]Oliver[/name_m].
I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I’ve never liked the sound or look of [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]. I like the history of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and its nicknames.
I prefer [name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
I like [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] better because it feels lighter to me. [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is a heavy name. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] you know what I mean by that.
