Hello, I’m a big fan of the name [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I like the “regular” pronunciation, phonetically as [name_f]Elinor[/name_f], but lately I’ve heard around [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] pronounced as elle-lee-ah-nor. I was wondering if there was a spelling pronunciation that would clearly distinguish that lovely pronunciation from the traditional one we all know?
id try Ellieanor or Elleeanor which are both horrible and it leads to a life of problems i wouldnt bestow upon a child.
from experience as that child, not worth it.
There is [name_f]Elenore[/name_f], a perfectly normal spelling alternative that might help with pronunciation.
Edit: I should of read the thread more carfully! I’m not sure how to go about that specific pronunciation. Perhaps [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] would work if you don’t mind -a ending. Other then that, you could always just correct people on the pronunciation of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. Nothing wrong with that! Hope I helped some.
Ellianor… although I tend to read that as [name_f]Elly[/name_f]-ah-noor (emphasis on elly), rather than your preferred [name_f]El[/name_f]-lee-ah-nor (emphasis on lee).
Prehaps [name_f]Elly[/name_f]-Anoor… Elieanor…? Ellyanor…?
Elianor perhaps?
[name_f]Elianore[/name_f] would get me that pronunciation. But I like the way [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] looks best on paper. No big deal though, I think they’re both pretty.
Use the French version, with accent marks: [name_f]El[/name_f]éonore or [name_u]Ali[/name_u]énor.
