Elena May

What are your thoughts on Elena (el - ay - na) May? Do you prefer Elena or Ellen?

[name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] is lovely, especially with your pronunciation! I prefer [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] to [name_f]Elena[/name_f] by just a bit, and I think [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] would be so sweet too :yellow_heart:

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

I slightly prefer [name_f]Elena[/name_f] to [name_f]Ellen[/name_f]. But I think that [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] goes better style wise & flows better. I’m not a fan of the repeating long ‘a’ sound in [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f], but I seem to be in the minority. Although I think that [name_f]Elena[/name_f] is a prettier name, it’s also way more popular. And [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] has the nn [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], so that gives it another point! Basically I’m probably confusing you more. :joy:

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] my rambling helps a little.

I love [name_f]Elena[/name_f], on its own and in this combo. I’m not fond of [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], so east choice for me. [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] is lovely!

I prefer Elena to Ellen! And the El-eh-nah pronounciation is my preference, but Elena May is a gorgeous combo all around.

It’s a beautiful name! I wouldn’t pronounce it el-ay-na though. I would pronounce [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] el-ay-na and I would pronounce [name_f]Elena[/name_f] el-en-uh.

I think [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] is quite a sweet combo but there could be quite a lot of pronounciation issues ( el - ay - na vs el-eh-nah vs eh-leen-ah ). [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] would get my vote because it’s equally lovely while being a little bit more straightforward and familliar.

They feel elegant & sweet. [name_f]Vintage[/name_f] but bright and fresh.

Personally I prefer [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] or [name_f]Elinor[/name_f], but that’s just because I have negative associations with the names [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] and [name_f]Elena[/name_f] (el-ay-nuh)
