[name_f]Elena[/name_f]! I love it.
I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] since it’s more classic and has a stronger sound. It’s also less prone to pronunciation confusion. I pronounce [name_f]Elena[/name_f] ellen-ah but I’ve also heard uh-lain-ah and elaine-ah.
I like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] better. Like the poster above, I never know how to pronounce it as people have different ways and for some reason on paper it seems very harsh to me.
prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] . Although if [name_f]Elena[/name_f] was spelled [name_f]Helena[/name_f] i would prefer that .
My name is [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], I prefer it because I can shorten it to [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], but if you don’t want it shortened then go with [name_f]Elena[/name_f]. However, I know an [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and it always gets said like ‘[name_f]Elaina[/name_f]’, which she hates!
I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], as it has [name_f]Nora[/name_f] as a potential NN, which I love.
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], by far!!
Definitely [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].

As an [name_f]Eleni[/name_f] (the Greek form of [name_f]Helen[/name_f]/[name_f]Elena[/name_f]), I prefer [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. I’m not really a fan of my own name, which leads me to dislike [name_f]Elena[/name_f] as well. Nothing particularly wrong with [name_f]Elena[/name_f], I just have never liked it. I love how graceful and stately [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is.
Thanks everyone! I like [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] for all the reasons you all mentioned - it’s more classic and elegant, easier to pronounce, and nicknames [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. I think it’s replacing [name_f]Elena[/name_f] on my list
