Elena vs. Valentina?

That “Five Girls” thread got me thinking on what my top 5 names really were, and what I’d use for five daughters.

I know that the first four would be: [name]Alessandra[/name], [name]Victoria[/name]/[name]Vittoria[/name], [name]Katerina[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], but I have no idea about the fifth.
Then I realized that I really like [name]Elena[/name] nn [name]Lena[/name]. Which then lead me to think about [name]Valentina[/name] nn [name]Lena[/name] which I also like a lot.

What are your thoughts?
[name]Do[/name] you prefer [name]Elena[/name] or [name]Valentina[/name]? And do you have any other suggestions for me?
Perhaps [name]Gabriela[/name] would be a better fit?

I love, love, love [name]Elena[/name]!

[name]Valentina[/name] is nice but prefer [name]Valentine[/name] & prefer the [name]Gabriella[/name] spelling.

I like [name]Valentina[/name] nn [name]Lena[/name] better, personally, but I think [name]Elena[/name] fits better with your other favorites. [name]Gabriela[/name] would be a nice fit, too. Or maybe [name]Eleanor[/name] nn [name]Lena[/name]?

[name]Valentina[/name] is very pretty but I love [name]Elena[/name] and I think it would be my pick. It is pretty and not “overdone” or overly frilly…not sure if I’m stating what I mean correctly but either way, I would pick [name]Elena[/name]. Beautiful name.

I vastly prefer [name]Elena[/name] over [name]Valentina[/name]. [name]Elena[/name] is more appealing to me, although there’s nothing wrong with [name]Valentina[/name].

I like [name]Elena[/name] better. [name]Valentina[/name] isn’t bad but it’s a little too much for me

I think [name]Elena[/name] fits in better with your other four so each has a different first intial.

But I do love [name]Valentina[/name]. I don’t like it when it’s line-a though, just leen-a.

I adore [name]Valentina[/name] It’s very elegant and [name]Val[/name] is a great nn!!

This is really hard for me because my favorite choice hands down is [name]Valentina[/name]! However, you already have [name]Victoria[/name] for the first four…

Thus I think with the current combination I would actually pick [name]Elena[/name]. Here’s my absolute favorite combination out of all your names…

[name]Alessandra[/name] - [name]LOVE[/name] THIS NAME!
[name]Valentina[/name] - just prefer [name]Valentina[/name] over [name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Katerina[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Elena[/name]

I think length wise [name]Valentina[/name] is the option I would go for because it seems to fit perfectly with the other girls names. [name]Lena[/name] definitely works as a nickname for [name]Valentina[/name] too and I prefer this option.

[name]Gabriela[/name] doesn’t seem as classy as the other names so I’d say no to that one.

I like both, but [name]Elena[/name] slightly more. I think [name]Valentina[/name] is gorgeous, very fresh in the US but dated feeling in Eastern Europe while [name]Elena[/name] feels more classic.

[name]Eleanor[/name] doesn’t fit the theme very well, I think.

If you’re going to use the nickname [name]Lena[/name], then I would go with [name]Elena[/name]. [name]Lena[/name] as a nickname for [name]Valentina[/name] doesn’t seem as natural to me.
