Is [name]Elia[/name] boring because of all the Ellas and Elianas out there these days? Also, would you say it [name]ELL[/name]-ee-uh or EE-lee-uh? I believe the latter is correct, and I only really like it when said that way, with a long E. I think [name]ELLia[/name] sounds boring, but EEElia sounds awesome, though I think it would be constantly mispronounced due to the [name]ELL[/name] trend, no? Thoughts on [name]Elia[/name]?
Oh no - this is a variation of [name]Elijah[/name], I would hate to see it on a girl! It can be both Ay-lee-ah or E-ly-ah.
I did see that on Nameberry before posting. I totally get why people don’t like boy’s names on girls, but this one, in my opinion, is FAR too feminine for a little guy. [name]Elio[/name], certainly, but [name]Elia[/name]? It just screams girl to me. I like the AY-lee-ah pronunciation!
Yeah, I know several male [name]Elia[/name]-s. It’s exclusively male in the Middle [name]East[/name], where it’s a common form of [name]Elias[/name]/[name]Elijah[/name]. There it’s pronounced eh-[name]LEE[/name]-uh. [In fact the monk who facilitated me meeting my husband was Fr [name]Elia[/name]. :)]
This is definitely all boy to me! If you like the sound I would go with [name]Aaliyah[/name] or [name]Alaia[/name] but definitely not [name]Elia[/name]. The only one I know is a little boy (completely American) and he wears it perfectly. He goes by [name]Eli[/name] sometimes. I can see how some names work on girls like [name]Rowan[/name], [name]Addison[/name], or [name]Avery[/name] but I cannot even fathom the idea of a girl named [name]Elia[/name].
Oh, I agree - [name]Alaia[/name] is a beautiful suggestion!
